I thought it would be good to have a place where people can signal any free books they have spotted. Amazon (for kindle) and Apple (for iPhone) often have free promotins of books to offer and they don't always last very long.
Here are two that are still free to get you started.

William Walker?s First Year of Marriageby Matt Rudd
(It was OK, a bit laddish for me really)
itunes.apple.com/gb/book/william-walkers-first-year/id380681908?mt=11
www.amazon.co.uk/William-Walkers-First-Year-Marriage/dp/B002RI910I

NIck Alexander's The Case Of The Missing Boyfriend
(Like it, quirky chic lit).
itunes.apple.com/gb/book/the-case-missing-boyfriend/id413251257?mt=11#

If anyone spots any new freebies please share. Joanne x

i downloaded william walkers first year of marriage for free and thought it was a great read, very funny.

Just found this one. Looks like it's going to be my next free read.

Joanne - I downloaded Life from Scratch a couple of days ago - nearly finished it and surprising myself by really enjoying it. Also read William Walker and now going to get my kindle so I can give you the names of others I've read for free :)

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/02/2011 12:26

All of these were free when i downloaded them but I've noticed that some of them aren't now.

Christmas In Seattle
Soul Identity
Invisible
Saving Rachel
Breaking The Silence
Deed to Death
Her Last Letter
The Pawn
The Basement
Wading Home
Deeper Water
Not What She Seems
Painless
The Kindest Thing
The Lost Daughter

They are a complete mix of genres because I've pretty much downloaded anything that's free on Amazon. Some of them are from new writers and not brilliantly written, some are dreadfully twee chick lit but harmless enough. I'd recommend Saving Rachel purely for it's weirdness, Painless and Wading Home.

This is a great thread: have just got my kindle and had no idea you could get these free books - thanks. Off to download more Grin

you can get lots of free e-books from the library! use python software to remove the encryption and Calibre software to convert from epub to mobi (kindle) format.

@DinosaursHateUnderpants Thanks for that. Yes, a lot of these freebies are temporary promos so you have to grab them while you can.

More free books! Will never speak to my family againGrin

JoanneNotJo · 17/02/2011 17:49

Did anyone else read "the case of the missing boyfreind" yet?

OP posts:
DinosaursHateUnderpants · 17/02/2011 21:36

Not read it, it's 86p i think on Amazon so may treat myself :)

haggisaggis · 21/02/2011 16:22

I quite enjoyed "Painless". Just started "Wading Home". I also enjoyed "Invisible" (very light crime fiction - but is marketed as "Christian fiction" or something just to warn you (nothing heavy though).
Have just finished "The KIndness of Strangers" which wasn't free - £ 2.81 or something - but worth it. It's a true story of aguy who made atrip hitch hiking across the States relying on strangers feeding and housinh him - and I found it very enjoyable.
Thought "The Basement" was rubbish.

JoanneNotJo · 22/02/2011 10:47

@DinosaursHateUnderpants It's still free in the applestore if you have an iPhone or iPad I just checked. Otherwise, well worth 86p.
Life from Scratch was an OK read too. Now, what next??!!

Hey just saw that this is now free on Kindle... Who knows how long it will last though - a few days seems to be standard for these free promos. Joanne xx www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004IPPAOO
