Wellington College or Stowe for sixth form boarding?

Hello-we are currently considering Wellington College for our DD for Sixth Form. She is a strong all rounder (academically and sports) and currently at Boarding School in Scotland.

We are also considering Stowe and have friends there who love it.

My concern is do all the kids disappear at the weekend and Wellington is essentially a weekly boarding school and too trendy for us-we are not London based and a traditional country family! I completely understand both very different schools.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received about either Stowe or Wellington.

(Put this originally in Education but better here!)

I would have thought the choice between those two was quite heavily dependent on the child.

Wellington tends to be for quite confident types, Stowe maybe less results-focused?

Wellington is a flash, high performing , weekly boarding school.
Stowe is a gentle, scoops up non academic pupils managed out for more academic schools for sixth form and is becoming more flexi and weekly boarding. Friends have pulled siblings from the joining list now they’ve seen the older siblings left high and dry in their boarding house at weekends.
2 very different schools and an odd pair to want to choose from .
for an academic high achiever Wellington would be better but yes, it is broadly weekly boarding.
if you want academic and full boarding for all at weekends then the obvious choices are Oundle, rugby or even Uppingham.

Not what you're asking, but my daughter is currently at Hartpury College and loving it. It's great for sporty country kids and almost all kids stay around on weekends.
