Hello All,

Would sherborne suit ultra sporty kids, Who maybe aren't so strong Academically?

It's pretty broad entry. Not everyone makes it in, and there are some extremely bright academic boys but also plenty whose best talents lie elsewhere.

I would say no.. DC2's best friend has got in and is pretty weak academically.

It's on the easier end of the scale.

I would say yes. Sherborne is well known for its sport and with a new Headmaster with an interest in the area and new director of sport, I can see it getting even better. There are also many academic options for all abilities.

No

My understanding is that it’s easy to get into as long as you are not a massive trouble maker at your current prep

My nephew managed to get in; his strong suits are charm and cricket. On that basis I think Sherborne's academic entrance criteria isn't as rigid as other public schools.
