Day place at Oundle or Bedford Boys

Hi, I wondered if anyone had any experience of these schools. DS top team for most sports, county player in cricket, top sets for all subjects and plays guitar in a band and does very well in performance work, poetry etc. We do not want DS to full time board. Has offers from the above. My only concern with Oundle is the extent of integration of day pupils with boarders and missing out on all the school has to offer. Bedford boys has many more day boys but has a different vibe. We love both schools, hence the challenge in choosing. Any thoughts appreciated

Both great schools. Bedford very much a day school (it might have boarders I don’t know but not many) . Oundle would be seen as the next league up in terms of cache but that is of little consequence to most people . It’s is larger and more cosmopolitan (way more diverse in terms of people from all over the uk and international) whereas Bedford very much serves its locality.
There are about 300 (?) day pupils at Oundle and they fully integrate from the moment they arrive to leave end of day. It’s 6 days a week for them and my dc (boarders) have as many day friends as boarding. Literally seen as one group of friends. Everyone goes back to their own house for lunch - two day houses and about 12 boarding houses. So it’s not a day v boarders as there are 14 different places for lunch . Everything else is totally integrated.
just go with the school you like the best and feels right for you. Sounds like your ds would be an excellent fit at either.

Golly I didn't realise there were so many day pupils at Oundle as it's so often cited as a full boarding school.
@Ratfink22 you've got two good options. In your shoes, if I wanted a day school I'd opt for the school where day pupils are the centre of gravity. All assuming the commute is equally doable in either direction.
