Mixed sex boarding dorms

It might sound like a silly question, but… how do boarding schools (especially six forms) prevent boys and girls “mixing” after a certain time… if you know what I mean

Yes, I know, @Barbadossunset. The PP asked about the 4 mixed houses. The mixed houses only have approx 10 girls in the sixth form. The other houses are single sex.

Sorry - i misunderstood your post.

At DS's school, no child from any other house (boy or girl) is allowed above the ground floor (ground floor is common/day rooms, bedrooms upstairs). Being caught upstairs is pretty much punishable by death for all involved.

Didn't Stowe reportedly run out of morning after pills a few years back? Or so I read- maybe tells its own story.
