Cheltenham - New Head Teacher announced

The current head of Cheltenham College is going to leave next year, off to the Middle East like many other ambitious Brits. The school has just released the name of its next head: Mr Chris Townsend. He is currently the Head of Felsted School, and was also a Housemaster at Stowe and Dean Close.

Surely some of you must know something about him. What kind of a person is he, and what kind of a headmaster will he be?

No idea what he would be like as a head but he taught me Latin many many years ago (in his first job after graduating I think). He seemed like a really lovely guy, quite shy and unassuming. Clever and very sporty from what I remember. Always struck me as very fair and decent back then.

What is the reputation of Cheltenham College, overall?
