6th form for art, design and textile focused

Hi - first time here. We live abroad and my daughter has expressed an interest in attending 6th form boarding in the UK. She wants to attend uni abroad so we think it’s a good stepping stone. She’s very arts focused plus high function autism so we’re looking at Bryanston, Bedales, Hurtwood and the International School of Creative Arts. Has anyone got any opinions on/ reviews of these schools and/or can you suggest any others? We’re arranging visits in June.
Thanks very much!

Heathfield in Ascot for fashion and textiles I think.

Mayfield Girls in East Sussex is great for those subjects and has excellent pastoral care.

ACS cobham does the International Baucclaureatte in Design and fashion. Great boarding facilities too. Good luck in your search.

I also visited Hurtwood and they're good as well. Very creative.

I think the ones you are looking at are ALL good suggestions. Bedales is quirky but would suit well.

I think Bedales may be changing…. We hit a complete brick wall with their new Head of Admissions as soon as she found out my son had an Autism diagnosis, despite my husband (an OB himself), my son and I all thinking it would be a perfect fit. My husband could not believe it

Thanks for this. Super interesting you say that - we visited in the last week and had similar red flags once the autism diagnosis came up, and even though she requires very little in the way of support :/

Ditto. In the right environment (which we all believed Bedales to be), my son would likely not need any extra support at all
