Boarding gifts for house staff

Morning all, this is our first Christmas at boarding and I am looking for inspiration for Christmas gifts for house mistress, tutor etc - is the gift voucher the best option, along with a small token? I am managing the gift from our year group so any suggestions will be most gratefully received. Also, what do people tend to do for the rest of the house staff - cleaners etc?

Hi @yodaforpresident on this question in previous years I've seen the suggestion of buying the biggest/best hamper your collective budget runs to and letting all the House staff pick goodies from this. You might want to consult the Housemistress about how to manage this so that everyone gets something they will enjoy. If you have a really healthy budget you could consider a gift subscription so something nice arrives every month. My observation with DS at two boarding schools is that there have been seas of gifted bottles stacked in house offices corridors etc. - because end of term collection is always rushed and even chaotic-and this isn't necessarily something they want to encourage. So a more meaningful collective gift might go down very well.
