Weekly Boarding Preps Close to London

Hi all! Hoping for some recommendations for some boarding preps not to far from London that have more of a country prep atmosphere. DC are at a London day school now and as they’ve gotten older it’s starting to seem quite cramped.
Preferably a school that offers a bus service weekly, possibly even daily with the option to flexi board if that exists, also likely coed as we have an older boy and younger girl. Not quite so sure where to start looking or what the options are. How flexible are these schools on entry points? Not so sure when to make the switch if we would. I like how they’d have the opportunity to make the most out of evenings at a boarding school without being shuttled around so thought we’d look into weekly boarding as we’d still want them home on weekends.
From just a quick search a few schools that stuck out to me where: Aldro, Brambletye, Cheam, Maidwell Hall, Elstree, what others are out there?

Both my DC Flexi board at Aldro. DD started in year 5 and DS in year 3. It's a fantastic school and works for both my children - one very academic and one very sporty. There's great support without being pushy.

Also there's Saturday school at Aldro from year 4 and by the time they go higher up the school, it's a full day with lessons in the morning and matches played in the afternoon.

There is a minibus service from Guildford, Godalming and surrounding areas but not sure about one to London.

Lambrook and Feltonfleet might be worth a look.

If boys, consider Lockers Park in Hemel Hempsted. Really, really nice small (number on roll; massive grounds and so many facilities) and nurturing school, great staff and great links onwards. They offer regular weekly or flexi boarding. https://www.lockerspark.co.uk/

Lockers Park

We take pride in our pupils' success and opportunities. Our boys' school (ages 4-13) is conveniently located near Berkhamsted, St Albans.

Oh sorry I missed that you said your DCs were a boy and a girl. Lockers Park are a boys school. 🤦‍♀️
