Hi all

My DN wants to spend a year abroad in a boarding school in Ireland 2025-2026. She will be in Year 11. We are ideally looking for a boarding school that offers a one year course pre IB or pre A-levels for overseas students. She has an EU passport.

Do you have any recommendations? Any experiences, positive or negative?

Thank you very much in advance!

If you are still looking the Dundalk and Sligo Grammar schools seem to offer 1 year placements for TY
https://dgs.ie/ or https://www.sligogrammarschool.org/boarding/

Sligo is very pretty, Dundalk not so much but handy for Dublin airport.

Hi I’m not sure if it’s a boy or a girl . However there are two very good girls schools in thurles Tipperary , there is a good boys school too . They stay with host families.
