Starting tomorrow, I'll strive to be more like Michelle Obama. Amazing woman that she is.

I don't always have the capacity to 'go high', but watching her navigate the hate and hostility directed at her is quite admirable.
I mean, she can't reasonably wallow in the gutter with the pigs that are always trying to denigrate her, but the moral fortitude she must possess 🤷🏾‍♀️. Just wow!

I personally will not be following her on that particular line of advice, at least not fully. I think there are occasions to go high and others to meet them in hell.

She certainly has. I'd forgive her if just once, she gathered all these people together and 'told them some truths'; but maybe I just need to learn grace.

Why would you assume that? Disliking Mrs Obama doesn’t automatically mean I like Mrs Trump. I’m all about equal opportunities and dislike them both. 🙄

Like you, I tried to adopt this maxim of MO's - I respect that attitude so much. Especially, for example when you get personal attacks on this site. I try not to go low in that instance. Also when people make judgements about your life based on your colour.

I admire her stoicism as much as I admired her clapback in the museum speech 😊.
I just don't have her restraint though. If my mouth isn't answering, my face tends to do a lot of talking; so I may as well say what I have to.

Fair point! I find that as I get older, because when I was younger I lacked the confidence to clap back. I just try to take the higher ground where possible!
