Black doll recommendations

I would like to buy a baby doll for a friend's daughter who is 5. I was hoping to find one with afro hair if I can, rather than where the manufacturer just used a white mould with straight hair. Nowhere near me stocks any black dolls in store and I just can't tell when ordering online. Does anyone have any recommendations under £25?

I am white so I really hope you don't mind my posting here. I didn't just want to get a white person's opinion on the best black doll for a black child, but I appreciate this isn't my space.

I don’t have any recommendations but wanted to say it’s a lovely thought. I am black but my nieces are mixed race Korean black so I had a local seamstress make them rag Dollie’s with a good likeness to them when they were little and they loved them.

Interesting - some of those look cheaper than last I looked, I wonder if more are being made in the UK now?

When my DC were small I used to buy dolls on work trips to the US where I could find dolls of varied ethnicities and skin tones. Such dolls were much more mainstream there and a lot cheaper. Now I buy for DGC and have done the same - American dolls. I’m glad to see more on Amazon but if anyone looking for such dolls has US family or friends that can be cheaper option if they are visiting. (I was in major cities, but I think they are generally more widespread in the US).

Yes @C8H10N4O2 maybe more are being made now. More people wanting them.
