Does anyone have good recommendations for a good waxer/ Aesthetician for black ladies in Surrey or south London.

Interesting question. I have had a couple of terrible experiences but have always just thought the person doing the waxing wasn’t very good and didn’t go back. I didn’t put it down to my hair type.

I have an amazing lady now, she is mixed, which probably helps, although I just found her my chance years ago.

Right that’s interesting, thanks for sharing.
I’ve found there is a lack of qualified waxer that know how to deal with certain hair types.

It really put me off for years but, I’m in a place where I want to go again but trying to find a reputable and qualified place/ person.

Whenever I’m back in London and have time, I go to Mikki’s Wax Bar. She’s in Aldgate East. I know you said South London but this a possible option for you if you get desperate or if you’re in the area.

They’re really nice and I first went there during Covid and they followed all the rules well.

EDIT: And yes, I’m Black with coarse hair and a propensity for ingrowns! Even though she’s not Black, she has experience waxing Black folks.

@DM29 You're welcome!

Prior to going to La Toya, I had a bad experience with someone who I don't think was used to my skin type (the aesthetician ended the session saying 'your skin is not happy').

All good now since I've been going to Room to Wax.

Although I live in South London I don’t have a recommendation there. Mine is in The City (St Pauls area) and called Beauty Essence. It’s one of the few waxers I have been too when I can go to pretty much any waxer and they do a great job.
