Very short natural hair

Has anyone cut theirs really short and how have you found maintaining it?

Looking for a radical but low maintenance change.

Yes. Mine is about this length now.

To maintain I'll generally apply water and a little moisture milk and comb, and that's it. To style, sometimes I'll do a few cainrows at the front. To the rest/back I may add Doux's 808 gel, mouse and sponge. If I dont cainrow the front I sometimes wear an elasticated alice type band.

I started much shorter last year but I'm playing with this length now, it's so easy to maintain - I havent looked back.

I’ve been thinking of shorter too but think you have to have a nice shaped head/forehead for that 🤔

How did you find managing shorter compared to the longer length?

The shorter style was easier as I only got it cut biweekly, it was too short to do anything else.

To be honest I had the same concern about head shape/size, but I'll say it really was fine. I wasn't lacking confidence prior but ended up feeling a boost with the new look and honestly happier due to the ease it offered.

This was 4 months post going bald in 2019 (must have felt lockdown coming), and it's the easiest hair I've ever managed as my hair is thick.

Washed every morning and used Sof n Free moisturising spray and curl activator.
For extra curl, I rub it with a hairnet.

Be prepared for it to grow really quickly, so you may be a regular at the barber.

Never thought about colouring my hair too but you’re inspiring me 🥰
