Have the women 100m relay sprinters had a falling out?

I love watching the olympics and the relays have me on the edge of my seat. Congratulations to the women for winning silver medals yesterday. But… Watching their interactions on the podium and interviews, there seems to be a distinct absence of warmth, looking at each other, and genuine engagement with each other.

I also noticed that Dina seems noticeably ‘off’ and disengaged, which is unlike her. Just watched them again today in quite a long interview by Sky News, and noticed it again.

Maybe it’s something or nothing, but it definitely doesn’t fit with how I’m used to seeing them. I also noticed that there were no declarations of being so close and trusting each other, like they’ve usually done, but more of a “I just wanted to make sure I did my bit and not let the others down” kind of vibe. Did anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

Dina and Daryll looked like they didn't like each other in the 200m final. There was no hug or anything after.

Dina has been 'off' for a while. I think she's good at turning it on for he cameras but she doesn't get the reception from other athletes like others do (see how happy all of them are for KJT or how supportive they were to Holly and Molly). I think she's probably a bit up herself.

I thought that too about the 200m. Thinking back, I think the noticeable change was around when Dina had a mysterious inability to run to her capacity and on one occasion attributed it to period cramps. I remember a general sense that others didn’t quite believe her, or perhaps there was a feeling in the team that Dina was speaking out of turn. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think it's reasonably well known that Dina and Daryl don't get on...

That said, I didn't especially get that vibe yesterday.

They're effectively colleagues, and potentially don't spend much time together if they train in different places (maybe even different countries). Throw in some personalities that don't particularly gel and I don't think it's strange at all that sometimes the teams aren't particularly warm with each. If they don't spend much time together outside of a high pressure/stressful situation it's the kind of thing that probably amplifies friendly relationships into closer ones, but also probably amplifies any negative feelings as well.

They seemed fine to me.🥈They did good!
