Move to Outskirt London with toddler

First of! I'm so happy to have found the Black mumsnetter. I've been check threads I could really related to. So I'm a single mum with an 19 months old mixrace baby. I've been searching for family, villagey places to move out to without success.
Just when I was about to put an offer on a flat in Palmers green, I walk around the neighborhood which was really nice but mainly east Europeans and Turkish. I felt some insistent looks and naively thought,there were just curious so I decided to post a message on the parents group. I received good feedback and a private message from a mum who moved out of Palmers green due to racism.
I'm now lost as to where to search ..and crazy to see that we still need to factor race in our search criteria.
Any placed you would recommend? I live in Liverpool Street , budget 500k for a 2 bedroom. I ideally wanted somewhere in North London/ Hertfordshire with a mix of ethnicity. Open to other area as well

I'm wasn't in Palmers Green, but close. I'm not sure about what you've said. I've always thought of PG as quite a diverse area. Yes mainly the ones you've mentioned but the schools around there are a mixture and I think it works well. Lots of hard working parents with similar goals for their children. Perhaps you might look into Enfield again? Bush Hill Park might be somewhere to look as they have decent schools, shops within easy drive...good luck with wherever you choose.

@Fran1412 Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Southgate and High Barnet are all very diverse areas.

@Fran1412 also Bounds Green and Bowes Park.

Nothing wrong with Plamers Green for a black woman. I know a Nigerian family of 6 children who've lived there for decades. The last of the children moved out 3yrs ago, all doing well.
I had two Black British/Carribean female colleagues who also raised their families there. I also have a couple of friends in Southgate and many Nigerian families in Barnet.
You'll build your village.

My friend with Nigerian heritage lives in Palmers Green. She says it's a nice mix of families, with a decent level of diversity.
