Is anyone feeling the effects of the increases in costs of living?

Good day to you BMN. I thought I might revisit this thread again to see familiar names ( and new !). I've been wondering how you are all doing?

The tin of Ackee index at the Echo houshold today was showing I could buy online for £4.99 to £8.69. Tesco locally at £5.20. Still just as a treat now and then.
Which is a bit irrelevant really, as I'm struggling once more to get any salt fish at the stall in our local Saturday market.
I'm glad it's getting a bit warmer here, cricket season brings a smile in this house. Daughter is paying a fortune in fuel to get to work, so I've picked up paying for the grandchildren's music lessons. So that's me stretched even further. But worth the smile to hear them play- especially the wonky notes.

That’s good of you, EchoNan. Children’s music lessons are a cheery thought - and it’s dispiriting to think some children might lose theirs as times become harder for their parents / guardians.

It is dispiriting. It's sad to hear from their lovely music teacher that she's already had some lessons cancelled, and she is so reasonable with her lesson costs already. I think a lot about how those who care for little ones are doing.

@Lndnmummy. We are grand thanks so much, big health scare with Mr.Echo but he's on the mend thankfully. One of the little ones has learned to play "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the piano, so Grandad is well entertained, being a Liverpool fan.
I hope that you, the children and husband, are thriving, despite dark days last year..
