Concerns of racism highlighted in UK publishing

Good morning,

I'd like to draw your attention to and discuss the responses to the current conversation around Kate Clanchy and her response to critics of her book : Some Kids I Taught and what they taught me.

I will hold my hands up that I have never read this book, nor do I intend to. But what I've read this morning has left me open mouthed & dismayed (I'm annoyed that I'm still stunned & surprised by racism & the racist detractors).

If you Google Kate Clanchy you will easily find articles in all the broadsheets. The comments section under The Times article is predictably horrendous.

Thank you for raising awareness about this. I’ve just started reading the links and I am deeply disappointed by the racism and the racist detractors (you put it so well). I will keep reading now.

I have no intention either of buying this book. Yet their are people who seek to deny that the education system is not systematically racist.
