I've been trying to support more black owned businesses, particularly beauty and skincare (which I buy waaaaay too much of)

I've just discovered a fab brand called Elenge (phone won't do accents) for body butters and scrubs

Would love to know about any more

Those both look like lovely brands. Have ordered for both.

Looking forward to more gems.

I follow a few ‘directories’ as so to speak on IG and Facebook for black business/services and also for female owned/independents.

You can do a search on either platforms to get the directories.

U.K. Jamii on IG a good place to start, I think they follow most of the directories.

'Black owned economy' on FB. There's a treasure trove of businesses sharing their wares.

You have to join the group to see, but it's so worth it!

I’ve started getting my hair products from hairglo.co.uk - they’ve got a really good selection, only downside is the delivery fee. Skin treatments skndoctor.co.uk

[quote Travelbutterfly]Culturalvate is a great place for bespoke gifts I’ve already bought several of the baby onesies! They sell on Etsy.

Just discovered a Jamaican restaurant near me which is black owned (and the food is delicious!). Obviously, they won’t be local to most of you, but do keep an eye out for black owned businesses when shopping locally.

I’ve recently taken delivery of a face mask and matching earring which were handmade by @Alisbespokecreations on Instagram. They were really well made and I love the different prints.

Campurp · 29/09/2020 21:45

Also, it’s not skincare or business, but I love reading and recently found a new young black author called @charliauthor on Instagram. I got sucked into her book trilogy and I think she’s due to release another book early next year.

DesperatelySeekingSunshine · 21/10/2020 20:08

Not a small small business, but maybe a less well known brand. Idiscovered today that Hope fashion, who do lovely knits, and have a sort of luxe lounge wear vibe, have a black founder and CEO
