Cutting my son’s hair

Am I deluded in thinking I can do this?
He has mixed hair, only cut once when he was a toddler by a hairdresser who I don’t think knew what he was doing (looked much too short and too round).
I want to trim it so it doesn’t fall over his eyes and I don’t have to canerow it all the time.
Watched a few YouTube videos and it looks easy (famous last words!). Shall I do it? Anyone cuts their own kids hair? Any tips?

No. I wouldn’t attempt to cut your Sons hair yourself. Take him to a black barbers even though he is mixed they know how to cut the hair better than other barbers.

Can anyone recommend any good barbers in east London?

I cut my son’s hair myself with scissors. Would advise taking it slowly, and wrapping the kid in a towel to avoid little bits of hair getting into their clothes.

I just do a simple one length all over cut though. Anything fancier and he’ll have to go to the barber!

If you do plan a trip to the barber’s, comb it through (or get all the tangles out) beforehand. Much easier for everyone.

I asked my brothers and nephews how to they found their barbers. They just said they walked down the street and saw who was in the shop.

It's a bit harder with lockdown but I guess that's what you are going to have to do.

Slidercuts, Hackney are good and have a booking system. I loved when my son was able to go to thr barbers alone.
