patent shoes for school what happens when they get wet and how do they last

dd1 has brown leather ones keeps getting them wet has ruined leather looking @ getting her some more on sat.
looking @ getting either :-

dark red patent
dark blue patent
black patent

she is only a size 6 so cant fit in actual black leather school shoes

I always found that patent shoes were more hard wearing than leather, dd had some as a toddler.

However they are not allowed at her school so I don't know about for school.

Dd was a size 6 when she started school and it was very difficult to get shoes to fit in black leather. Think Start-Right did them in the end.
