If I opt for a CS (which is looking more likely tbh), my baby should be born week commencing 17 November - so by early December, things should have settled down (maybe??)

Anyway, pick a date that suits everyone and if I can make it I will, if not, then I am sure we will arrange another one

Pinkali37 · 26/09/2008 09:13

Sauraus... we will be the only first time mums... yikes... everyone else will be professionals at it we'll be there with a dirty nappy attached to one foot, projectile vomit down our shoulder etc.. My 30th is on 3rd Dec so i would prefer it to be after that week if possible. Sorry to be a pain.

ruthosaurus · 26/09/2008 10:08

No worries ladies! Pinkali, they can help us out . I'm sure I shall be in too much of a daze to care...

I have no brain cos I've missed breakfast - anyone else want to think about a date?

Pinkyminkee · 26/09/2008 12:48

Pinkali My birthday is 4th December!! Not my 30th, though..long gone, that one
Perhaps last week in Nov would be ok? Or would that be too soon for people?

And BTw we will all be adorned with baby vom brooches- do not fear, the only difference is that we scond/third time mums will be so used to it we won't notice!

Pinkyminkee · 26/09/2008 12:50

Actuallt, second week inDec looks better, no?

Pinkali37 · 26/09/2008 12:54

I personally think that the last week in November could be too soon (for me anyway). The latest mine could come is 24th as they won't let us go over 10 days round here. Am i being a pain?

Pinkyminkee · 26/09/2008 13:13

No not at all - I think after our birthdays would be better.

ceebee74 · 26/09/2008 13:14

Pinkali - you are not being awkward! I definitely can't do the last week of November as my baby might not even have arrived by then!

Shall we go for week commencing 8 December?

ceebee74 · 26/09/2008 13:16

Can I just say aswell that I keep chuckling at the image of the 9 of us walking round Meadowhall with 9 prams, 9 newborn babies plus an assortment of other children aswell - can you imagine what the other shoppers will think?

Pinkyminkee · 26/09/2008 13:19

yes sorry that was a bit of an aberration! I think second week in dec much better. And it's going to be very funny and complete chaos!

Pinkali37 · 26/09/2008 13:52

The other shoppers will stay out of our way hopefully. I must take you all shopping with me in future!

ruthosaurus · 26/09/2008 15:12

Ceebee - have you heard the expression "normal for Meadowhall"?

We will fit in just fine!

LadyBuzz · 27/09/2008 10:03

Second week in Dec sounds good to me, my first wedding anniversary is on Dec 1st and I think DH might be a little put out if I go out instead!
Even if I have had a CS I hould be driving by then. I'll have to gear myself up for a 3 hour drive though!!
Don't worry Pinkali like Pinky says we will ALL be covered in vomit etc we just won't care or notice!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 21:15

2nd week in December good for me as well. I can do a bit of Christmas shopping, and hopefully arange to PILs to pick up DS so I have no need to rush back.

mum2becks · 28/09/2008 08:44

wow hadnt looked at this thread for a while so didnt realise there was now so many of us meeting up!!

2nd week in Dec is fine with me too, as is Meadowhall its only about 15 mins drive away from me

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 09:13

I can deffo do 2nd week in Dec - I'm hoping that baby will be about a month ol by then so I will at least know which way up to hold it!

I know that there's a kiddies play thing with tunnels and crash-mats and the like somewhere in Meadowhall - what about finding the nearest coffee place to there to meet up and then we can corrall entertain existing DCs for a bit there or bribe motivate them with the idea of playtime there?

Pinkali37 · 29/09/2008 09:44

2nd week in December is good for me aswell.

Sauraus, you mean there is a right and wrong way to hold a baby?

I think meadowhall is about 30/40 minutes away from me. Having a new baby i will probably set off some time around sunrise so i do have to rush...

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 10:15

I dunno, Pinks, I saw a picture of a baby once and it wasn't upside down. You can always pop round mine for a mid-journey cuppa and clean the vomit off (yours or the baby's). Whereabouts are you based?

Pinkali37 · 29/09/2008 13:29

I'm over Gainsborough/Lincoln way. So M180 then M18 etc.. Where abouts are you?

ruthosaurus · 29/09/2008 13:43

N Sheffield, about 10 mins from M'hell! Handy for xmas shoppping, bit icky in rush hour...

vbab78 · 08/10/2008 21:55

Sorry ladies not checked this thread for ages. I think I would be fine with 2nd week of Dec.

Hi ladies,

I've checked opening times on tinternet and Meadowhall opens at 10am and shuts at 9 or 10pm in December, so mid-morning whatever day we choose is probably best, from experience. It gets more challenging late afternoon, especially round Xmas. Anyone got a preference on dates in the week starting 8th December? I'm pretty much free all week, so if there are any dates you can't do post here!

mum2becks · 09/10/2008 11:15

Hi, week starting 8th Dec is ok with me but I would prefer 2nd half of week if poss as DH's days off are Mon & Tues as he works weekends!

I agree that mid-morning would be best as I normally avoid meadowhall that close to xmas as its hell!!!!!!

ruthosaurus · 09/10/2008 15:40

Seconded! [shudder] But it is also indoors, warm and dry, with coffee and free parking. Please just keep me away from the animatronic polar bears as they give me the creeps, big time. [shudder shudder gag]

Btw, DH is now letting me use the mother and baby parking at Meadowhall as I am 8 months pg with SPD - he was funny about it before on moral grounds that we didn't actually have an external child... Funny man.

Pinkali37 · 08/12/2008 13:17

Have we decided on anything???? Oh i'm so behind.
