Ziko Herbie Travel System - any advice???

Has anyone else invested in the Ziko Herbie travel system from Mamas and Papas? We ordered it when it came out and are meant to pick it up in a couple of weeks. I have read extremely mixed reviews on the travel system - especially the Pro Sleep car seat but since we have basically already paid for it and my sister has twins who she has to carry about in the Pro Sleep car seats I am not too worried..... but I can't find all that many reviews so I thought I would ask your good selves what you think of the Ziko Herbie...

Thanks for any responses - I suppose I should have asked before actually buying it!!! but it was a present so I was under pressure to pick something with the mother in law!!!....

I bought the Herbie Ziko (Splishy Splashy) several months ago, it's been fine to handle, I even Gel Filled the wheels so it got no punctures, I was bit dissapointed when it arrived as I thought it converted like the SKATE model but no it's 2 seperate lots of fabrics for Carrycot and the Pushchair modes.

But the fabrics are great quality, design is attractive, frame easy to collapse and errect etc. Though just last week my frame stopped errecting properly, it was on the verge of collapsing, so is not with M&P for repairs. 2 weeks with no buggy at X-Mas! Great!!
The bar that clicks on the front across the baby also doesn't want to click on altogether with mine also.

The Pro Sleep is fab too, just as everyone else says HEAVY, but as your baby grows your strenght increases! so not all bad. Not allowed to recline whilst strapped into car though, only on the frame or off frame. Can be difficult with weight though when taking off frame... Hope this helps.

hello oahhuhawaii i gt the ziko herbie splishy splashy before june 2008 and i was so pleased with the appearance of th pram model and loved the pram ,until when my 3 mnth old son was in the carry cot whilst i was out pushing the pram,th chassis snapped n collapsed beneath him n i nearly went over y pram with my baby in ti.i was so upset bt fuming at the same time, mixed emotions.i took the param to the shop and they was refusing bt in the end replaced the chassis with a chassis from th the shop model of the pram.but to my unfortunate luck it did it again two days ago and my boy was in the pushchair this time.coming out of the shops i had the pram fall beneath me unexspectidley n my son was so shook,i willl fight for this it is a unsafe place for yout=r baby to be.i hope you hear this and consider another pram before you or your baby gets hurt.

Hi!
Our little one is only just 5 months. We have been using our Herbie for that amount of time and have been plagued with problems with it - faulty wheels, collapsing chassis, bits falling off, raincover coming away at stitching, chassis not locking when folded. I am horrified with the manner in which M&P refuse to take responsibility for this, offering only to repair the pram and not refund. In addition the standard of customer care that we have received has been absolutely appalling.
I am currently following this up with Trading Standards and have also written to the Deputy Cheif Exec at M&P. I would urge anyone experiencing problems with their Herbie pram to do the same. The more exposure that this pram has for being an unsafe product the better before a baby or child is seriously injured whist being transported in it. If you're reading this and are considering buying one, I would seriously reconsider!!!!

dumdeedum - did you get this resolved?

Our Herbie has been repaired twice by M&P (DD 9m now) and we've just got our third fault. We're also going through Trading Standards now. I'm thinking of taking this to court so if you are thinking the same it might be worth doing it together.

Faults so far:

DD 6w when collapsing mechanism failed
DD 7m when front wheel fell off when crossing road - wheel housing had broken
DD 9m - reclining mechanism broken

I note that M&P no longer sells the Herbie...

Hi I brought the ziko Herbie from someone on shpock. I used it twice and the frame collapsed with my 15 month son in it. We've tried everything to fix it but when I took it to a shop that fixes prams they told me something was wrong before I brought it. My son lived the pram as he could play with pram toys. Please consider before putting one x
