maybe they are, if you're not totally sure. Also, you may have blood tests too-for checking iron, any STI's, etc.

Good luck at hospital, you will be fine!!

lucyw19 · 29/10/2007 10:00

thank you, they said the appointment will be few hours so we'll see!!!

Hi Lucy

I had a scan on Friday because of bleeding and loss of symptoms. The sack measured 5 Weeks and 5 days and no baby could be seen so of course no heartbeat. They said it was a bit too early to see a heartbeat, usually 6 weeks at the earliest so I'm going again on Friday when I should be nearly 7 weeks (if all ok).

Why was it horrible apart from the heartbeat? Was it because it was an internal?

As for the age gap, I've only got one ds (4.8) so can't comment but I'm a childminder with sisters close apart and they are like the best of friends (they are 10 and half months and 2.3). I think you'll manage just fine and then of course you'll have all that freedom whilst your still young

lucyw19 · 31/10/2007 08:20

I think it was just horrible cos it hit me what i might be doing. No internal thankfully!!!

Im sure it will be fine as you just have to get on with things dont you, but we will see in a few weeks!!

Emmahugs · 03/12/2007 16:33

Hi Lucy,

I've got a five month old and have just found out i'm 4 weeks pregnant. How are you getting on? Any advice? I'm in total shock and don't know how to feel. My initial reaction was NO WAY but after reading what people have said on here i'm coming round to the idea slightly! i'm 29.

Hope you're getting on ok.

Out of my 6 kids 2 lots have been 14 month gaps.
Bloody hard work when they are small. I cannot leave the big baby alone with the small baby for a second. That is the hardest thing.
My 1st two are now 9 and 8. I thought it would be easier with them now but there is fierce competition.
I know that people have much smaller gap then that though!
It's tough.

and lucy im sure theres nothing to worry about as when i was pregnant with my first i had that same problem no heart beat and no fetal pole but went back in 2 weeks and found out i was 8 weeks pregnant it puzzled me but my lil boy is beautiful and healthy he's now 18 months old

docas · 12/03/2008 13:28

my baby is just 5month and i am pregany what will i do wouldn't the pregany affect my 5month baby

ELB1 · 14/03/2008 07:38

My DD1 is 4 months old and I am 5 weeks pregnant! We wanted another one, but wasn;t expecting it so soon. I am getting my head around it and not thinking about money or practical things too much if I can help it!

My saving grace is telling myself that within a year or so, they will be playing with eachother for years to come as they will be so close in age (especially if I have another DD), so am assuming this will be less hard work than say having just one where you have to do all the playing with!

That said - do what's right for you and good luck.

I've just found out I'm pregnant and have a 5 month old. I don't feel excited about this pregnancy in the way I did with the first. I feel full of worry as my 5 month old is a real hand full. I know I want to keep the baby but can't seem to be excited about things. Anyone else feel this way?
