Breastfed 3 month baby has not had a pooh for 12 days - Please help!

Please help me - My 15 week daughter, who is exclusively breastfed hasn't had a pooh for 12 days. She tends to go every other day and has not gone for 5 days once, but never this long.
The Doctor has seen her and said she doesn't seem to be constipated, no hard stomach, swollen rectum but prescribed Laculose - 2 doses of 5ml per day.
She is not in distress but does seem to be getting more fussy when feeding, not sure if there is a link?
I'm so worried, is this normal, feel like I'm doing something wrong as its my breastmilk, thought breastfed babies rarely got constipated?
I'm on constant 'pooh watch' and feel more and more worried every time I change her - she is wetting her nappies tho, so I know she is not dehydrated, and is very gassy! Please help if you can.

hello hkk, sorry no advice for you other than perhaps good idea to repost this in breast and bottle feeding topic. also might be worth searching archives am sure hvae read posts like this before, which ended in gigantic poo and relief all round.

and a bump.

This is pretty normal. Breastmilk is a very efficient food, and as long as she's not constipated, I would leave it be. (I wouldn't give the Laculose!)

It's freaky and weird, and yeah, she'll have a giant poo, but it's also perfectly normal and not a sign of any problem at all.

It is normal. It is not constipation. Brestfed babies can and will go ages without a poo and as long as they seem comfortable there is nothing to worry about. It is just that breastmilk is such perfect food there is very little waste (how cool is that?) My DD's record was, IIRC, 18 days, after which it became a bit more frequent.
