Hello all :) so just found out I am pregnant again :) had an early miscarriage in January and fallen on again, which is amazing. I am very anxious this time around and don't want to get too excited, but can't help myself. I also found being on here last time was actually a great help when it was taken away from me as people are so kind and it helps to talk, so if it does happen again I am in the right place xx anyway happy times now :) eeeeeek. Anymore early Decembers.
If there is already a group tell me and I can join that. X

The only time I manage to sleep is with my window wide open, blanket instead of duvet in total darkness (preferably with the bed to myself). Always struggles with sleep and find putting my phone down and the tv off an hour or so before bed helpful, read a book instead and have a chamomile tea, just generally try and unwind.
I used to take asphalia which is natural and worked total wonders for my sleep inability to sleep but I'm unsure about whether it's something you can take in pregnancy.
Desperately trying to avoid eating carbohydrate of any sort smothered in butter for breakfast. Nothing else appeals !
Hope everyone's okay today.
Good luck on wall zabe! I do not envy your nausea !

Zaberwocky · 03/04/2017 08:50

I'm finding computers at work really aren't helping either! For some reason screen time is making me want to be sick as well Envy hope everyone else is doing okay this morning!

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 09:06

Hi and congrats to the new joiners!

It's really hard not to worry, there is a really good chance that everything will be ok- a much better chance that things will be fine than not.

I had a mmc last year and do feel very anxious about it happening again- but there is nothing I can do about it, so I'm telling myself that worrying is pointless. I am just trying to enjoy each day of being pregnant and not focus to much on what bad might happen. I think I have got my anxiety to a normal level now, I don't think I'm worrying more than anyone else in the early stages of pregnancy (for today!)

I have an early scan booked on 27th April, so then I will have a good indication of which way things are likely to go.

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 09:09

Also to help sleep, I find a nice warm lavender bubble bath really good, I use L'Occitante Lavandar. It's expensive but really lovely, I always sleep better when I use it and I struggle quite a bit with my sleep.

NaturWilde · 03/04/2017 09:13

Morning all! Am 5w today! Still feeling great!

Anyone else still no morning sickness yet?!

Chamonix1 · 03/04/2017 09:20

natur-
I had some nausea last week. (Probably only noticed because I know I'm pregnant) but don't feel anything sickness wise at all.
I've got a banging headache today. The only "symptom" probably not even pregnancy related!

runthemileyourein · 03/04/2017 09:41

Hi everyone and welcome to new joiners!

Just wondering if anyone has booked their booking in appointment yet? It feels early but my hospital is known for having a 4 week wait time for first appointments.

Zaberwocky · 03/04/2017 10:09

run I think I'll hopefully be booking mine after next week, so at around 8 weeks. But that's just because there's a really limited maternity service here and I'll probably struggle to get in for 12 weeks if I leave it much later. Like, one hospital for pretty much the entire county! So I'll need to get in early.

Millie2008 · 03/04/2017 10:30

Thanks everyone; interesting idea re early scan... will think on it. Going to gp tomorrow so will ask then.

Re sleep- I can't really explain it. I'm not getting up to wee. It's more that I'm sort of restless and become alert. Then my OH's every slight movement or sound seems to affect me. If I do drift off eventually it's such light sleep that the slightest thing will wake me then I can't get back to sleep. Can't work out if it's physical or psychological...
Probably not helpful that I was reading miscarriage stats yesterday, arg!

Millie2008 · 03/04/2017 10:32

Might try the bath idea though chocolate... 😊

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 10:36

Only 4+2 here, no nausea as yet. I think give it a week or two things might be different...

Boobs are very slightly starting to feel sore and feel a fraction bigger but nothing too noticeable. Last year I didn't even test until I was 4+5 and I'd had no symptoms that I'd noticed apart from a missed period. I remember it all starting quickly after that though.

I've got a docs appointment next week, the GP will then refer on to midwife and they will write to me with a booking appointment and scan appointment.

NaturWilde · 03/04/2017 10:38

@Millie2008 I wake through the night/early since my BFP, lots going on physically and mentally, even if you don't realise it!

Think I had this last time too.

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 10:39

Mille STOP reading about miscarriage stats!! It won't change anything and will only stress you out!

I know exactly what you mean about the sleep thing, I keep disturbing myself- I even sat bolt upright the other night and woke myself up! I also wake at about 4am and then can't get back to sleep.

I had a lavendar bath last night and slept right through for the first time in ages! It felt so good!

runthemileyourein · 03/04/2017 10:43

Thank you for the responses Smile

I called my hospital and they said the booking in appointment is normally at 8 weeks and they take blood and urine samples as well your history. I explained about my MC in December and they have given me an appointment for next week today!

Nature no real morning sickness although felt a little queasy this morning. For my pregnancy last year it only kicked in between weeks 5-6

runthemileyourein · 03/04/2017 10:43

Ps according to the NHS website my EDD is 7th December. Feels so surreal!

Millie2008 · 03/04/2017 11:08

I know I know I know chocolate! I will stop from today. It's just as people have said- when it's something you want so much and have perhaps been trying for a little while; it just feels so fragile...

BirdBrain85 · 03/04/2017 11:23

Chocolate - I'm 4+1 so we're very close! I'm the same as you, haven't really felt nauseous yet - just a bit funny if I don't eat when I'm hungry (which seems to be often haha).

I called my clinic this morning and they've booked my early pregnancy scan for the 27th. Feels a way off but sure it will come round quick. It's lovely to have you ladies to talk to :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 03/04/2017 12:24

Hi bird I'm 4+1 too, due 10 Dec I think. Am seeing my GP on Wednesday to ask about booking in.

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 13:07

Oh Bird, I have an early scan booked for 27th as well! Spooky!

I am definitely feeling more hungry and a bit light headed if I don't eat. I will be very happy if I don't get nauseous or any food aversions!

I really hope time flies this month!

TipTop333 · 03/04/2017 13:08

Hi everyone,

Welcome and congrats to the new joiners!

The mc stats are what they are unfortunately - terrifying and real. HOWEVER, the odds are that you will have a normal, healthy pregnancy. I have to keep reminding myself of this - the odds are in my favour (rather unlike the hunger games).

These cramps are driving me mad. They're not even really cramps, I just feel like I am dragging around a bowling ball in my uterus (but not in a heavily pregnant kind of way). Anyone else got non stop heavy uterus/mild cramps?

I have a doctors app for my mw referral later this week so will obviously ask.

Those having early scans - how many weeks/days will you be? I want to book one but trying to think when.

NaturWilde · 03/04/2017 14:12

I'll be 7+3 for my early scan.

runthemileyourein · 03/04/2017 14:34

Tiptop I will be 8w3d for my private scan. Next week at my booking in appointment I will be 5w5d. I'm in Switzerland and not sure if they will scan this early as part of the booking in (normally they do here)

Zaberwocky · 03/04/2017 14:44

Tip YES. They are possibly the most irritating kind of cramps in the world!

Can you all tell me it's too early to buy anything? I've seen a folding changing mat with flamingos on it and have fallen madly in love 😂

ChocolateRaisin · 03/04/2017 15:03

I'm going to be 7+5 for my early scan, I wanted to be 8 weeks and a day or so but there were no appointments and the next available scans were 8+5 and I didn't want to wait the extra week.

Due to my dates I'm pretty certain that I am 2 days ahead of my predicted dates anyway, due to when I ovulated and dtd, so I think I will actually be 8 weeks exactly. 27th April cannot come quick enough as far as I am concerned!

At 8 weeks there should be a clear little heartbeat and development/ size can be measured on the scan quite easily, so if there is anything not right it is easier to pick up. Once there is an established heartbeat the chance of miscarriage massively reduces to 1% I think.

Last year I had a mmc which stopped growing at 6+3, I found out something wasn't right when I went for an early reassurance scan at 8+2.

That is why I am waiting until 8 weeks, if everything is OK then I will relax a lot I hope.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 03/04/2017 15:09

I want to feel excited but have no one to talk to about this pregnancy.. and my DH is having bit of a crisis about having a baby (we thought it might take 6m-1yr to conceive..it took 3 months!). He'll be fine but isn't up for chatting about it all the time (yet). I can't tell my mum or sister as they are so indiscreet, and I need to hide it from work for as long as possible. It doesn't even feel real yet! Seeing my GP on Wednesday then it'll be 8 weeks to wait for a scan.. 😴
