D'oh! or Dick - It's the Battle of the London Hospitals - Homerton or Whittington?

Please help...
Despite having a baby due in the next 6 weeks we've decided NOW is the time to move and so are off to Stoke Newington, away from our original hospital catchment area.
I need to book in with either Homerton or Whittington but as time is short I wondered if anyone could offer advice on which one is da best? Ideally i'd like a home birth but failing that a birthing centre one, any experiences with these?
Thanks x

Hi - I hope that this isn't too late for you...I had my baby at UCH (and they have a birth centre). However, quite a few of my nct buddies had babies at the homerton and whittington. both hospitals are good. although you will always hear a few horror stories...

the whittington midwives are fab. and one friend of mine had a great waterbirth at homerton. why don't you have a tour, and choose?

ps you've probably already discoverd church st, and if you like curry (or believe that it will help you go into labour!)- Anglo Asian is the place to go

Had my first at the Homerton. Ante-natal and post-natal care were both great but labour wasn't because they were v short staffed. However, that was in 1999 so things have hopefully got better. Alos know some of the midwives at the Homerton and they seem good.

Don't know very much about the Whittington.

I'm still in N16 - fantastic place to be with young children!

Good luck xx.
