Well just to say - I live in East Devon and am quite happy to travel in either direction. I think Bridgwater in Somerset was mooted at one point? A daytime meet would probably be best - I'm thinking lunchtime to give us all time to get there - and I would need to bring DS2. Fridays are good for me but tbh, I would be happy to sneakily take a day off work to fit in with everyone else.

Or what about Bristol, and that amazing soft play place some people were talking about in the last thread??

How about mid Jan - when we all need cheering up?

runnyhabbit · 23/11/2006 10:56

I think the place in Bristol is called Jump! They've got one in Cardiff, and its very good. If we bring lo, then it makes sense to go to soft play. They need to be distracted so we can all have a good chat Maybe if there was enough of us going, we could pre-book (or should that be forewarn?) and see if we'd get discounted entry? I'll ask anything!

Mid Jan is fine with me too.

If you are doing cardiff let me know, although I don't live there the SC do so I will tell DH that we need to visit them on that day.
(only if it is the weekend.)

runnyhabbit · 23/11/2006 11:44

Sorry if I confused anyone - I think we're going to the one in Bristol (I've been to the one in Cardiff and thought it was good, so hopefully Bristol will be the same)

Which is better - Bristol or Somerset or somewhere else?

Weekend or weekday?

With or without dc?

answers on a postcard please........

From a selfish perspective, weekdays would be good for me as DS would be in school and we usually have a lot on on weekends, also BRistol would suit me best as I live 10 mins away from Jump!

Greengirlforever · 25/11/2006 22:55

Bristol and a weekday would also be best for me. Fridays are ideal but happy to do another day.

doghouse · 26/11/2006 07:49

I live in Chester but come from Somerset and pop home regularly and did at one point think I could come to a SW meeet up. Trouble is I am usually back at weekends (and then only ever 4 or so) so I will let you all organise and if by any chance I can join you ... I will!

Have fun!

What about wednesday 10th Jan? From a selfish perspective (!) ds can be with my mum all day, so I can do grown up things

How's this with everyone else?

OP posts:
WestCountryLass · 29/11/2006 22:00

I can't do the 10th!!!!

I've got a midwives appt

Greengirlforever · 30/11/2006 00:34

RH - Can you do another link to the main thread tomorrow just to keep people reminded? The South East lot have all but booked their table - we need to get a wiggle on!

  • would all prefer a weekday to a weekend, we are going to meet at Jump in Brisol and bring our DCs if necessary?

Or just tell me how to do one of those links! Now I really must go to bed!

CornflakeKid · 03/12/2006 20:21

Weekday is better for me - but work thurs/fri til mid feb. Jump great idea - maybe meet about 10.30 am ish and stay for lunch???

Shall we all wear red roses?! LOL

runnyhabbit · 03/12/2006 22:02

Sorry, was a bit late doing the link

LOL at red roses!

Shall we say 17th Jan?

OP posts:
WestCountryLass · 03/12/2006 22:45

Okydoky, will put it on calendar

DD has gym til 11am so i'll come after that, should be there by 11.30.

CornflakeKid · 04/12/2006 08:02

Okay with me - will put in diary.

Greengirlforever · 04/12/2006 09:17

17th Jan sounds fine and DS2 and I will get there for as close to 10.30 as we can. We should have a think about identifiers, cos actually in a place like Jump there are quite likely to be a lot of pg ladies with toddlers!

1becomes3 · 04/12/2006 10:19

Sorry ladies, forgot to take myself out of this meet up, with all the stuff with the SS going on I am not going to be in the area for a while.
Hope you all have a great time.

HollyandMistletoeforever · 04/12/2006 12:48

We will miss you - 1B3 - I was hoping that, as you are carrying twins, you at least would be larger than me!!! . Hopefully you will be able to make the big London meet up??

SleepInHeavenlyPesha · 04/12/2006 13:47

Forgot about this! Would love to come and meet everyone but not sure I can as ds has playschool til 12 everyday and dd at school til 3.10 so would be abit tricky although i suppose ds doesn't have to go playschool everyday So how hard is jump to find seeing as i have not yet mastered driving and navigating at the same time!! DD would be very good at helping me with navigating but i suppose she does have to go to school really, doesnt she?!

HollyandMistletoeforever · 04/12/2006 14:08

What, and miss a day at Jump??? Bring them both!

TBH I have no idea where it is either and am planning to wing it (very used to getting lost and finding my way somehow) but I'm sure someone who knows it will be along to tell us. Failing that, I have always found AA routefinder on the net very good. First Google Jump in Bristol then take it from there.

runnyhabbitdashingthruthesnow · 11/12/2006 11:21

Thought I'd bump this, just remind us all

Just to confirm -

Date - Wednesday 17th January
Where - Jump in Bristol (they've got a website, but might be known as Jump 123)
Time - 10.30/11ish

Red roses or pink carnations (lol)

See you there
x

Birdiebump · 08/01/2007 17:10

Hi there - just found this thread again (am Holly&Mistletoe etc. etc. btw). It has been very quiet for a long time. Is everyone still planning to come to the meet-up as it's next week ???!!!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 08/01/2007 17:38

I can make a mumsnet sign and stick on a table. Do you think we should book a party room??? Could call and see if they would charge us or whether happy for us to use one if not being used.

It is on a small industrial estate at the M&S end of the Mall - I follow signs for Accessability parking then turn right and then right again at some traffic lights/junction on a bend - then follow road all the way round to the end and Jump is on the right.

Very exciting!!!

WestCountryLass · 09/01/2007 09:58

If you type Concorde Road Patchway into here:

maps.google.co.uk/maps

You will get a map of the area.

M5 Junction, follow signposts to the Mall.

After main motorway roundabout, turn left at traffic lights, you will have a tile showroom on your right.

At next roundabout, by Asda, go straight over. You will see ToysRUs to your right.

At traffic lights, turn left and take first immediate right.

That is Concorde Road and Jump is big blue building at the end.

Bit silly its not signposted....
