low libido doctor referring me to counselling?

Hiya
I have a very low libido and never want to get sexual..
I am on contraception
It's becoming a big issue in our relationship as I'm now getting accused of cheating and stuff
I finally built up the courage to go to my doctor and she suggested counselling
I walked out of the room and laughed I'm not quite sure how counselling is going to help build my libido..
Has anyone else been counselling for this and does it help?
Would appreciate any comments thanks !!

No experience with this but just surprised your doctor has suggested counselling rather than look at your contraception. Certain pills are notorious for killing sex drive.

Another one with no experience to share but echo having a look at your contraception and maybe try another method which may be more suited to you.
On a separate note and I'm sure there is a more eloquent way of saying this but the allegations of cheating should not be the first conclusion where you have a low libido! I for one would be mightily pissed off if my DH suggested this!

Is it possible that the GP may have meant couple counselling if you identified problems with your relationship? It may be worth clarifying?
