Does anyone in Ealing want to lend me a newborn?

Bit of an odd request, but hear me out Grin

I'm a nanny (qualified, experienced, Ofsted registered, insured and first aid trained).

I'm going to be starting my maternity nurse/night nanny training soon and I need to build up experience of working with newborns.

Newborn experience is very hard to come by because most people don't need a nanny until 6 months+ and those that do, want someone who is experienced (vicious circle!).

I'm hoping that I can help someone by offering a bit of free childcare and they can help me by letting me 'practise' on their baby! I have dealt with newborns in my current and previous job as both families grew while I was there, so not a complete novice! I wouldn't want any payment, just a reference for my CV.

I work four days a week, but am flexible on my day off and the weekend. I'm thinking it could be ideal for someone who wants to spend some time with older children, someone with twins who needs an extra pair of hands, someone who is self-employed and needs a few hours to check emails etc. or even someone who just wants some sleep or a bath!

This can be sole-charge, shared care or mix of both whatever you need/want.

I can provide a CV, certificates, great references etc. I'm not expecting anyone to let me waltz in as a stranger from the Internet!

(You should probably name change before messaging me to save outing yourself!).

I don't live in Ealing any more and my friends there don't have newborns. However it might be worth contacting both the local NCT and the Ealing 135 group (pre-school age parenting group) to see if they can put you in touch with their members who may be interested. At the very least you could advertise in their regular newsletters.

Good luck!

Thanks everton. That's a great idea about the NCT and the Ealing 135 (we used to be members, so I should really have thought of that!).
