Is hair growth in pregnant dependant on boy/girl hormones?

With DC1, a boy, my hair was full, thick and luscious - no hair loss.
With DC2, a boy, pretty much the same.
I'm 20 weeks with DC3, a girl, and hair is shedding at an alarming rate.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Could it be due to different hormones in the body?

TIA.

I've had two girls and yes I'm normally very hairy but the hair on my legs etc practically stoped growing, I'd usually have to shave every 2 days and I hardly had to do it at all, it's the only old wives take I've actually found true based on people I know that boys seem to make you have the same/ more and girls less so maybe this will be dd1! Will you find out?
