Good luck schro. I hope things go well and you get some more info soon. Thinking of you today.

I'm liking the sound of tablet, now I know you've not gone mad!

I'm having a chilled day today, getting a manicure and a hair cut but nothing else planned (apart from more sodding shredding now I've finished the filing).

SundaySunshine · 20/06/2013 09:32

Schro hope everything is ok, thinking of you. Fingers crossed you get some answers soon Flowers

MightBeMad · 20/06/2013 09:44

Good luck schro! Hope things are a little clearer this morning and baby schro is doing just fine.

Hypno session was fab last night. I found I'm not very good at relaxing and even worse at thinking positively about the birth, but I'm going to practice and try to improve. Best thing about it was the trainer was great - very sane and sensible and able to combine her hypno knowledge with her medical and practical experience. Even looked at my mat notes for me to allay my fears about some measurements of this baby and talked me through aspects of my last birth which put my mind at rest about why things happened and whether they might recur. Still got another 3 sessions to go, but money well spent I think! Smile

MrsRoss26 · 20/06/2013 10:13

mightbe great to hear your session went well last night! Not really the same, but I did a lot of relaxation stuff as part of yoga & pilates a few years back, and practice really does help.

All the talk of tablet yesterday has got me craving it... I love the Cornish and Scottish versions.

Have kicked off my annual / mat leave today. It feels strange! What do I do now? DH has the car so will be home-based today, otherwise I'd likely go shopping!

Thanks to everyone in hospital and in pain today. Here's hoping you all get some rest.

TotallyEggFlipped · 20/06/2013 10:13

Glad it went well, MightBe. definitely sounds like money well spent.

SlouchingPanda · 20/06/2013 10:32

I am a Wednesday's child and am indeed full of woe today. Went out for a lovely meal last night but couldn't sleep at all when I got back. Combination of feeling too full, being too hot, not being comfortable sleeping on my right, post-vaccine arm too sore to sleep on my left, and junior's non stop late night disco... what time is too early to go back to bed?!

Good luck Shro

37+0 today. Full term - and feeling it!

Beginningofthejourney · 20/06/2013 11:16

It's never too early to go back to bed I have discovered since Theo arrived! I was supposed to have started AL/mat leave on mon so would have been making full use of catching up on sleep. Smile however sleep deprivation is much easier to cope with when someone is gazing up at you!
What's with all these babies arriving early! Hope all ok this morning schro x

dinkystinky · 20/06/2013 11:18

Glad you had a good session Might be - practice the fear release exercises. The rainbow relaxation exercise always sends me off to sleep! And get dh to practice the light touch massage on you - helps release those feel good endorphins!

Slouching - you're on mat leave. Never too early to have a kip! Hope the dinner was nice. Coolish shower before bed helps me get cooled down enough to sleep - and the hypnobirthing CD sends me off :-)

Had 38 week appt today - student mW measured me at 42 weeks until I pointed out where my pelvic bone is, at which point it reverted to 39 which is fine by me.

Happy mat leave MrsRoss - have a lovely lazy day. Am shopping for nursing bras, mat pads and neon clothes for ds2 for his role in Cinderella this morning (ds1 is the prince, a narrator and in the chorus - thankfully the drama teacher is sorting all his stuff out!) Then have induction session for ds2 at his new school this afternoon.

MightBeMad · 20/06/2013 13:18

Happy may leave mrsr! Not having car access doesn't preclude a shopping spree... That's what the Internet is for Wink

Sloughing - bed at any time of the day is good!!! I'm heading home for a nap now Smile

Dinky (I think - am on phone and memory is failing me!!) hope ds's induction goes well.

Waves to everyone else x

Thinkingof4 · 20/06/2013 13:30

schro hope all is going well and steroids get a chance to work before little one arrives

mightbe sounds great, glad you enjoyed it

dinky your boys are keeping you busy with school stuff but at least it keeps your mind off the waiting for baby

slouching and mrsross just relax and enjoy the time off

abzs yes it is good, problem at the moment is one of other chippies is shut due to a fire so we are now down to 2 chippies so both are extra busy at the moment. Not that we are eating there often though!!

Cooler here today so can't justify another ice-cream....

TotallyEggFlipped · 20/06/2013 14:00

Thinking - if the baby wants an ice cream......

cheekbyjowl · 20/06/2013 15:08

I had a cornetto at 9.30am Blush it tasted so good.

Schro you prob won't see this but thinking of you and hope all goes well

it is SO sticky today. just had a hospital appt and there were a lot of hot and bothered pregnant women there..am making a mental note to take a fan for labour day.

sorry you had a bad nights sleep slouching. I agree with dinky that a cold shower helps. they are predicting thunderstorms today so hope it will clear the air.

cheekbyjowl · 20/06/2013 15:19

thats great mightbe great you could arrange the class so quickly too.

relax and enjoy mat leave mrsross have you found yourself nesting at all?

VinegarDrinker · 20/06/2013 15:51

Hope things are going ok for schro

I've spent most of today in bed since dropping DS at nursery and popping to the shops. No real reason, just knackered. Actually the first time I've slept in the day since mat leave started and it feels good but I also feel shockingly unproductive!

MightBeMad · 20/06/2013 16:03

Vinegar I made a similar moment to my DH when I'd spent an afternoon napping and his take was that growing a baby is about the most productive thing a person could be doing so even doing only that (while sleeping) is more productive than his day. Not quite convinced but I'm happy to accept that reasoning! Grin

SlouchingPanda · 20/06/2013 16:27

Cheek hats off to a cornetto by 0930. Splendid work! Likewise Vinegar if you need a day in bed, you need a day in bed...

dinkystinky · 20/06/2013 17:21

I like your DH's way of thinking Might be. Vinegar - your body clearly needed a day taking it easy - hope you feel better for it.

Ds2 liked his new school but I was abit surprised by the number of pushy parents there insisting their children should be learning the violin and dfoing after school clubs till 5 each day at the age of 4! Something tells me I'm not quite of the same mindset as them - hopefully there are some non pushy normal parents lurking out there...

Cheek - respect re the 9.30 cornetto! I took a fruit frap to my antenatal appt this morning and was great!

Persuasion · 20/06/2013 17:23

mightBe glad your hypno went well, sounds like a good teacher. I'm using the natal hypnotherapy book and cd, finding them really useful. They've definitely eased my anxieties, and I now find the relaxation much easier. And they're great if you can't sleep!

Slouching it's never too early to go back to bed. Since I started mat leave I've been getting up with DH at 6:30, having breakfast and going back to bed for an hour or two.

Beginning you sound really content despite the sleep deprivation. Glad things are going well.

It's just started raining here, but the talk of ice lollies means I want one anyway. I guess if the baby wants one...

dinkystinky · 20/06/2013 18:23

Arse - I see the royal baby is going to be at the same hospital as me. Come on Beans - you need to make an appearance before the press hordes descend!

TotallyEggFlipped · 20/06/2013 18:30

MightBe I like the way your DH thinks.

Good move with the early cornetto, Cheek - it's never to early to start. Grin.

Glad DS2 likes his new school, dinky

I baked a massive amount of cookies this afternoon to take into work tomorrow for my last day! Smile

dinkystinky · 20/06/2013 18:34

Woo hoo Totally - have a great last day!

dinkystinky · 20/06/2013 21:19

Latest discovery of yum food is strawberry frozen yoghurt - soooo good and tastes so much less virtuous than it is!

VinegarDrinker · 20/06/2013 21:33

Is that the Yeo Valley stuff dinky - I discovered that today. Yum. Any virtue cancelled out by the full size packet of Kettle Chips I had for lunch though....

VinegarDrinker · 20/06/2013 21:33

Have a good day tomorrow Totally !

Thinkingof4 · 20/06/2013 21:41

totally good luck with your last day at work! Fantastic feeling!

vinegar wow a whole day in bed...now that sounds tempting!

dinky pushy parents are a bit strange - can a 4 year old really play violin! We found out this week that ds1 is in a composite p2/p3 class next year which is what we were hoping for. He's a really good reader and way ahead of the rest of the class meaning he's been in reading group on his own all year. Hopefully there will be older kids in his new class who are at the same level as him so he's got reading buddies from next term on. Not being a pushy mum though, teachers decided this would be best for himGrin
Is your hospital an nhs one or are you going private?
