Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

How many more babies will this thread see?

Congratulations bird, westie and missmuffet!

westie, that sounds like a very dramatic arrival. Hope you're recovering well.

missmuffet, that was very quick! Huge congratulations!

wishful, it sounds like things are moving along and how exciting that you know you'll have your baby tomorrow.

I am really envious of everyone snuggling their new babies. Nothing happening here, no sign of engagement yet.

Keys86 · 19/04/2013 11:58

Wow so much to catch up on!
Have been lurking and it's so wonderful to hear about all these babies arriving!

In the last few weeks since I last posted the sale of the house finally went through so we've moved into our new house, which is still chaos! And I have finally stopped work! Woop!

However, I have a horrible chest infection and I'm on antibiotics, the coughing is horrendous and the fact I keep wetting myself when i cough (tmi!) makes it even more annoying!!

I'm fed up and want the baby to come but don't want to still be oughtn't when they do - if that makes sense! I'm also fearing a very large baby hmmmm don't want to go 2 weeks over!

I'm going to try a walk today up hill of course (with the aid of a tena lady, just in case I have a coughing fit!) how grim!

Sorry for the me me me rant, hope everyone is feeling okay, and enjoying their babies and those still waiting I'm sending you lots of baby inducing vibes!

Please don't let me be last to deliver!!
Xx

39 weeks today.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 19/04/2013 12:05

Ooh babies galore, how exciting!

Westie I thought my labour story was dramatic! At least I made it to the hospital (although barely got my jeans off in time!).

Good job you called MissMuffet! Congratulations.

wishful I hope it's getting going. My show was minimal about 12 hours before I had DD and I heard them say I had a bloody show during the labour itself so it could be an encouraging sign!

Just about to have the heel prick test done!

leluella · 19/04/2013 12:21

Congratulations to aufaunie, bird, westie, and missmuffet, I am very jealous of you all!

wishful i hope this is a sign for you. I am also just trying to do anything to get that little bit closer to improve the chances of the induction working. I got a little bit excited this morning as went for a long walk and had to stop and pee 3 times because of the pressure and there was a little bit of clear jellyish stuff there (sorry tmi)..clutching at staws but am hoping this is something.

Also been a little bit worried about lack of movement this morning as hadn't felt anything and have just had 3 pints of chilled water and got a couple of minutes of what I think were baby hiccups. Do these count as movements?

wishfulthinking1 · 19/04/2013 12:28

Hi all- think its full steam ahead here! Am having fairly regular contractions- about every five minutes and they last for about 40 seconds- the pain isn't really bad- it's quite bad- but just like really bad period pains. I'm using a very cool contraction timing app on my iPhone! I know that this stage of labour can go on for hours, so haven't called DH home or anything- he'll be home at about 4 ish anyway. And even though they're fairly regular, the contractions don't seem to hurt enough to be the real deal, of you know what I mean? Have stuck on tens machine- but as its all achey in my tummy it doesn't really seem to be doing much- but will persevere! This is the most exciting day of my life so far!!

luella - I don't want to be a worry wart- but I'm sure I read somewhere that hiccups do not count towards baby movement. If you're worried I think call midwife/ hospital for advice.

Xxx

SneezySnatcher · 19/04/2013 13:21

Leluella hiccups don't count - hope you are going to call the ward?

Just popping in to say congratulations to all the new mummies. We finally got home yesterday (day 5) after recovering from my crash section/antibiotics for Henry for PPROM.

Henry was weighed yesterday and, instead of losing some weight as expected straight after birth, he has gained 4.5oz! He was 9lb 4.5oz at birth and now weighs 9lb 9oz. It makes me feel better that BFing is going well despite a catastrophically bad labour and delivery!

Rivergirly · 19/04/2013 13:22

wow missmuffet that was a quick turnaround!! cant believe since I was on last yesterday you have produced a whole tiny person!!!

and really pleased for you wishful - sounds like you may be getting somewhere.

Nothing happening here still. Seen midwife this am and no sweep until next Friday at the earliest as I havent had any twinges and baby is happily squidging about plus still measuring small - 36 weeks!!! But by next Friday she will do a sweep and book us for induction so gonna chill and just wait for next Friday and if anything happens in the meantime then that will be a bonus!

Also as of today I have realised that any babies born are now Taurus rather than Aries! So our bubs will be the same as her dad - we do like sharing things in my family. DS1 is a pisces like me.

40 + 8

Fluffeh · 19/04/2013 13:31

Congratulations miss muffet, that was quick!

Good luck wishful I hope it's really starting for you :).

I've had my pre op and other than being the heaviest, fattest person ever to walk the earth, it went well.
Found out I'm definitely first on the list on Monday morning. The anethetists don't anticipate huge problems but think it might take them a bit of time to get the spinal in the right place because of my scar tissue. So I go down for the cs at 8.15am! It seems so real now. In 72 hours I'll be holding my baby :).

HadALittleFaithBaby · 19/04/2013 13:53

wishful based on how quickly my labour progressed and that its not your first, I'd say ring your DH!

sneezy that's great news,

We're just waiting for our discharge paperwork...

wishfulthinking1 · 19/04/2013 14:17

Gutted... Everything has slowed right down! Contractions were every 5 minutes for about 2 hours, and now they're about every 12 minutes! Waaaaahhh! I know really that it's fine- body just gearing up- and I still expect action in the next 24 hours- but it was all so exciting for a time.

faith - it's my first baby- I'm expecting it to take an aaaage- DH will be home in about 2 hours now, so I think we're safe.

It all started to slow down when I got on the ball- perhaps I should walk around more? Try to be more active?
X

toobreathless · 19/04/2013 14:35

wishful I had contractions for about an hour every 11 minutes lasting about two mins (I wasn't even certain I was in labour) got in bath and they got more painful- I thought because I was lying down? Got out, contractions were suddenly non stop, hobbled to bathroom door and realised I was pushing! DH rang 999, ambulance took about 10 mins to get to us, 6 mins to hospital with sirens and baby shot out 90 seconds after arrival! But was no 2 for me.

faith be warned DD1 I went from 1cm to fully in less than 2 hours like you (little monkey then got stuck) and I have just almost had an unplanned home birth!

westie congratulations on your speedy delivery.

Sympathies to all those over due & fed up!

Continuing to think of you & Sam empress

I am in now for monitoring and of course baby started moving as soon as I got here. It was all looking fine but they want a dr to check things over first which is fine by me

wishful got everything crossed for you that things pick back up but at least its one step closer and you are giving me hope that something could still happen for me!

HadALittleFaithBaby · 19/04/2013 17:30

Glad it's good news lelulla - best to be checked.

The MW who delivered Faithful said 'plan a home birth next time. You'll never make it in time!' I'd be a bit worried about that though with Faithlet being so small especially since it didn't show on a scan at 36 weeks!

Oh right sorry wishful, really hope it gets going again soon! I never got near my ball but walking round definitely upped the frequency of my contractions!

ratbagcatbag · 19/04/2013 19:26

I seem to have dropped off this so marking plac again

JaquelineHyde · 19/04/2013 21:27

Gah! wasted midwife visit, nothing to report and they won't do a sweep until I'm 40+7.

Really fed up today, had a good old cry and to make matters worse the coucil have fucked up my sons Junior school place and have allocated him a school on the other side of town despite him being in a feeder infant school for the junior school we live accross the road from!

So now I have the joy of going through the appeal process...what fun Angry Sad

Will tonight be the night...No of course it fucking won't because I'm going to be pg forever!

leluella · 20/04/2013 06:53

A bit apprehensive about what today might bring. After going in for monitoring yesterday the dr suggested that I either come in again today for either additional monitoring or to kick the induction off a day earlier than scheduled depending on how busy they are. Part of me wants to just go in and get things started ASAP but then again what I would wait and things start naturally, I felt like I was having contractions last night but they dropped off when I went to bed. However the first stage is just the 24 hour cervix ripener so suppose this would tell me one way or another if the induction is likely to work.

KelleStar · 20/04/2013 09:46

Well, after waking at 1am with some pretty strong but irregular contractions, they've now gone entirely. Just before 7am was the last one. Really thought things were happening...

40+1

usernamegoeshere · 20/04/2013 11:20

Aw kelles that sucks.

leuella I hope you have a good day whichever you decide!

Having the most mild regular cramps ever today and am losing yet more plug (amazed there is any left!) I know it's not labour as no child of mine would ever risk stopping me from going to buy toffee muffins, I think instead she is just so excited about them her bouncing around is causing more braxton hicks!

40+8 (3 sleeps!)

LikeCandy · 20/04/2013 12:12

Wow it's been an unusually quiet weekend on here!
Thinking of you all - here's to lots of easy and uneventful births xx

lutrinae · 20/04/2013 13:44

Thinking of you guys all waiting and hoping it happens for you all soon! Maybe a quiet board means lots of babies are arriving!

KelleStar · 20/04/2013 17:51

Kept active today in the garden, apart from some stabby cervix pains, nothing.

JaquelineHyde · 20/04/2013 17:57

Nah...It's the sunshine, everyone is out making the most of it Smile

Nothing happening here, been having a garden tidy up for a few hours and have managed a good 40 mins on my ball which together has resulted in a bit of back ache and very, very mild cramps.

I am currently watching a massively important football match that could result in my team being promoted back to the football league. This is going to be heart thumpingly nail biting stuff and I'm hoping that may kick start something...I will be getting back on my ball for the duration of the second half as well, just to raise the stakes a bit more Grin

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

JoRich77 · 20/04/2013 19:53

Hi all, baby Bella Rose was eventually born Fri 19th April at 13.51 weighing 7lbs 1 oz. Very long labour at 38 weeks, induction followed by all the pain relief I could get, not the drug free home birth I had planned! All worth it though when I look at our beautiful baby girl.

Am thinking of all of you overdue and hope that you get your babies soon

angeltattoo · 20/04/2013 20:07

Hi everyone,

Empress Flowers for you and Sam, am thinking of you xx

Congrats to those with new babies, what a dramatic bunch of entrances to the world we have!

Isobel Anna was born on Thursday Grin 7 lbs 10oz

My waters went on Weds morning, contactions started 1am Thursday morning, dozed trough them until 4.30am, got to hospital at 6.30am, examined and was 6cm by 8.30am, taken to labour ward, asked for epidural, 1st anaethetist could not do it, luckily a second one managed, examined at 11.30 and was 10cm. I knew I would be from the amount of pain! However, eodural relief kicked in and I rested for an hour, then pushed for an hour. Needed vontous, she was born at 1:48pm Grin

We stayed in overnight, came home yesterday afternoon. She seems to be feeding ok, midwife was pleased today, now just waiting for milk to come in and hoping I can manage to feed her. Today Daddy did her first wash, and we went out for a very small first walk in the pram. She has slept a lot today, so hoping she is getting enough (feeding for 45-60 mins every 3-4 hours, if anyone has any wisdom?)

I have a 2nd degree tear which is stiched, am weeing okay, and stocking up on laxativesbas very scared of the first poo!

My family are visiting tomorrow, I cannot wait for them to meet our daughter.

Mama1980 · 20/04/2013 20:29

Congratulations Jo! Grin Thanks Xxx
