Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

How many more babies will this thread see?

jh - I wish I was making use of your due date! Still bugger all happening here- bit of back ache, but I think that's from just scrubbing the floors!

Surely SOMEONE is having a baby today?

JaquelineHyde · 18/04/2013 16:35

Come on babies lets be having you!

Hopefully the thread is so quiet because everyone is popping them out.

I am not reading anything into this but I have developed bad back ache and very light period type pains. However, I have had these on and off for weeks now and they never amount to anything so I am ignoring them in a very stubborn you are not fooling me again way Grin

KelleStar · 18/04/2013 17:06

Nothing here but back ache, stabby cervix and some period cramps. Due date tomorrow. Every afternoon for a week I've had these pains. Baby still feels back to back, or at least still feeling arms and legs wriggling at the front of my bump.

I'm finishing up knitting a blanket for baby, hope it takes the hint it's all done soon :)

I've made 'dates' for next week to keep me busy.

Was a bit miffed with DH, I told people my due date was in two weeks time, possible induction date, but DH has been telling everyone my actual due date. It's a long running battle, he doesn't understand why it is a problem for me to have daily calls to check the status of baby.

Teapig · 18/04/2013 18:01

empress, thank you for letting us know how Samuel is doing. He sounds like a fighter and he's in the best possible hands. I'm thinking of you and sending all lots of love and strength.

Nothing to report here. Baby is still refusing to drop down despite lots of walking and ball bouncing.

katy and lutrinae thanks for sharing your experiences on induction/sweeps, that's reassuring.

Last night I dreamt that baby arrived today after a 2 hour labour and had taken to breastfeeding immediately, labour and breastfeeding were both pretty much pain free - like I said it was a dream. I was really disappointed to wake up and realise it was just a dream. Come on baby!!

40+1

EmpressMatilda · 18/04/2013 18:14

Just to let you know Sam has now left intensive care and moved to the cardiac ward. We are so proud of him and amazed by his progress Grin.

usernamegoeshere · 18/04/2013 18:26

After spending last night in a silly amount of pain am happy to report today I feel much better! Done lots of housework and now I have baby date in mind am trying to get organised (obv she could arrive earlier but I'm trying not to think about that and instead just concentrate on having a nice few last days just oh and me!)

Still a bit itchy but my nightly anti histamine is helping along with e45!

Sorry to those having a hard time at minute, I hope everyone manages to keep nice and distracted at least!

Also I meant to say, don't forget to write down any questions you have and take to midwife appt, it's hard at this stage with so much to worry about to remember things, so if you write them before then paper clip to the page of your notes the midwife writes in then much less chance of being forgotten!

40+6 (5 days to go!!)

Mama1980 · 18/04/2013 18:26

Oh empress, you just made me cry in a good way. So happy and relieved to hear that sam is making good progress. Thanks so much for taking the time to update us. Keep fighting sam, we're all cheering you on!
And empress believe me I know how hard it is but remember to try to eat and drink yourself, and rest as much as you can xxx

usernamegoeshere · 18/04/2013 18:27

empress that's amazing news, so glad to hear he is doing so well!

jj247 · 18/04/2013 18:30

Wow empress that is absolutely the best news I could have heard. Sounds like your little man is a fighter you have every right to be proud of him. So happy for you all xx

itsaruddygame · 18/04/2013 18:48

Fantastic news empress - little Sam is amazing!

Lots of labour inducing vibes winging their way to those of you who are overdue and fed up!

alwayshopeful13 · 18/04/2013 18:58

Empress that's just fab about Sam's progress-what a little legend! Continuing to think of you all.

Due date tomorrow and still nothing major to report apart from the recent onset (since acupuncture) of the weird shooting cervix pains. Trying to stay all relaxed and serene 'he/she will come when ready' but actually getting pretty impatient now....just want to meet the little one!

Sending positive labour inducing vibes to everyone still waiting x

wishfulthinking1 · 18/04/2013 19:08

empress - what fantastic news! And so soon! What a trooper!!

I don't want to get too excited, but I have a really achey back- what do you think? It's constant- so not contraction like- but still, it's something!

So.... What do you think? Is tonight the night?
X

aufaniae · 18/04/2013 19:09

Empress that's wonderful news, thanks for the update. Thinking of you.

num3onway · 18/04/2013 19:10

Well done baby sam! Fantastic news!

Any babies yet ladies?

I experienced the stabby cervix pains for weeks, I think possibly slow dilation although I may be wrong? After only two hours of contractions I was at 8cm so I was either already dilating or just went very quickly! Hopefully its a sign for you

aufaniae · 18/04/2013 19:26

Baby girl born yesterday at 3:12pm. 9lb 0oz, and all is well. I was 40+6.

Labour was much easier than last time, I'm relieved to say! Managed to make it out of hospital the same day (late last night) which I'm delighted about.

Still no name though. Cerys and Romy were the leaders the day before birth, but I'm too tired to make important decisions right now!

Sending good luck vibes to everyone else still waiting, hope it happens soon xx

num3onway · 18/04/2013 19:29

Well done aufaniae, glad it all went well!

Fluffeh · 18/04/2013 19:35

Congratulations aufaniae!

empress that is fantastic news! I hope he continues to get better so quickly :).

No news here. Had regular pains from 7am yesterday but they'd disappeared when I got up this morning. Ah well section day on Monday! Pre op is tomorrow at 9am. Does anyone know what I should expect?

alwayshopeful13 · 18/04/2013 19:38

Congrats aufaniae fab news! And welcome to the world to your little lady x

num I'd not realised the stabby pains might be cervix getting into dilation mode-crossing fingers that's what it is though! Thank you :-)

Giddypants · 18/04/2013 19:42

Thinking of you empress xx

Congrats aufaniae

Rivergirly · 18/04/2013 19:55

Aw congrats aufaniae - still waiting here 40+7!

So glad to hear your news Empress.

Having issues here with exh who has kindly offered to look after our 2ds' while I am in hospital but then at every opportunity for a social occasion he then decides he is not available!! As baby late we know she could come at any time now and he is trying to unmake plans for this weekend to not have the boys - usually has them Saturday night and all day Sunday - this has been reduced to Sunday 10 -6 and then Sunday 10 - 4.30! So god knows what we will do now if I go into labour - because I do think that this makes me less available somehow?!? Argh!!! As if I didn't have enough to worry about!!

I am sure something will work out but just a problem I could do without.

Still no pains or symptoms either but seeing midwife tomorrow and fx she offers something!! Am trying to keep positive by thinking that at least her birthday will be further away from ds1 now and the weather will be nicer on her birthday every year!!

JaquelineHyde · 18/04/2013 20:00

Empress that is amazing news, have to admit I shed a little tear. Keep up the good work Sam you have loads of cheerleaders here.

Aufaniae Congratulations again, she is beautiful.

I'm in bed already and have been since before 7pm, back ache and cramps have been on and off for a few hours. I just think I'm tired and need a good nights sleep.

Teapig · 18/04/2013 20:12

empress I'm so pleased to hear that Sam is doing well. We're all thinking of you snd cheering Sam on.

aufaniae congratulations!

jaq I hope it could be the start of things.

birdbrain17 · 18/04/2013 20:15

just marking my place with a quick update gorgeous baby girl born on tuesday at 13:35 weighing 6lb8 Grin I was induced monday night because of low platelets contractions started 3am at 11am was examined and 4cm dilated so they moved me to labour ward nd broke my waters. she had done loads of meconium so i wasnt allowed in the water but i was in too much pain to get off the bed anyway and she was born 2 and a half hours later...thankfully didnt need any intervention and am now back home enjoying lots of cuddles as she doesnt like her crib!!!!!
