misslaughalot good luck to you my lovely

Dixiebell · 27/11/2012 07:32

My due date today. No sign of anything happening. Happy due date to you too mrswee, anything happened after your sweep?

georgee · 27/11/2012 07:45

On the subject of booze, DH was born the day after MIL had half a bottle of Martini because she had been 'so good' during the pregnancy. She thought labour starting was a hangover!

I've heard a gin and tonic can kick things off too!

Hoorah jenbird! Good luck! And don't worry missl, your baby will be here soon, I think today is the day.

Not much going on here. I am comically large. If I knew how I would post a picture on the Facebook page. I look like Mr Greedy. Seeing midwife later.

Iheartpasties · 27/11/2012 08:30

arf! at boozing to get labour going :)

mrswee · 27/11/2012 08:45

misslaughaloti hope you are not the last seeing as you are already having contractions... that would be a long slog! good luck for it all speeding up today!

dixiebell happy due day to you too.

nothing happening here after the sweep. Well maybe the very mildest period type pain you ever felt.. probably imagining it. I am hoping for the weekend, DD is away at her Grand parent's for saturday night so that would be ever so handy, not to mention, not hidiousley over due. I think I could handle waiting till this weekend but not much longer than that!

mrswee · 27/11/2012 08:46

georgee good luck at the midwife later. Is it at leith CTC? mine was there yesterday but back at the surgery next wednesday if no joy by then

mrswee · 27/11/2012 08:47

god I keep missing everyone... it's the very distracting toddler!.... jenbird good luck!!

Passmethecrisps · 27/11/2012 09:05

Morning bumpers,

Who actually has the latest due date? I checked the stats list yesterday but it doesn't seem to go any later than the 21st. I don't want anyone left behind.

MM why are you being sick? Is it linked to your back pain or is it something else? Your DH being ill is dreadful timing.

I hope things are moving along with jenbird. missl fingers crossed you get some action soon - I know just from the short time I was contracting after my induction that contractions with no action are infuriating and exhausting.

mrswee · 27/11/2012 09:19

Hi pass the stats list must have been miss copied at some point. I am pretty sure it when all the way up to the 30th.

Thanks for the last bit of the list.

MissMummy1 · 27/11/2012 09:51

Pass My horrible morning (all day) sickness returned about a month ago so don't think it's related. I coughed this morning and have put my back out even more, I'm in so much pain Sad. My mum reckons they are probably going to want to send me to hospital at my appointment today to get looked at. I'm even tempted with strong drugs now, paracetamol isn't even touching the sides...

DP is being a total prat as well. I couldn't give a damn that he has a sore throat and 'didn't sleep very well last night' - I haven't slept for weeks!! There's nothing wrong with him, he passed a bloody offshore medical yesterday ffs! And he's left my office in a complete mess with no ink in the printer, the one fecking day I need it. Angry (I know I'm being completely unreasonable and taking my frustration out on him....)

georgee · 27/11/2012 10:14

Hi mrswee it's at the surgery today. If tomorrow it would be at CTC but I squeezed in an appt today. Which is good cos the surgery is quite a lot nearer!

I'm having a really weird thing this morning of little gushes (like you know when you have a bath and you suddenly get a small gush an hour later - maybe that's just me ... or indeed you've DTD and you get a small gush later). It seems to be a lot like watery mucus. I can't imagine it's my waters. Have a pad on and am monitoring. Can they go so slowly as that? There's about one gush an hour as if I'm retaining it somewhere and letting it go bit by bit. Weird. I'm keeping pads and numbering them ready to present to the lucky lucky midwife later.

Sorry about your moany DP MM - I get this sometimes with DH. Yesterday night he was a bit mealy-mouthed about doing all the tidying up and giving DD a bath. I kept thinking 'Just look at me! I'm massive! With your baby!' But luckily he pulled it together later (otherwise I'd have had a right go). Hope there's an upturn in your back situation soon, that really does sound miserable.

MIL (she of the Martini induction technique) is coming in an hour. So pleased to have some help today!! Poor DD has square eyes from so much CBeebies.

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 10:22

I think the latest due date is me! Due on Friday. Have been having on/off contractions now for ten days, since I lost my mucus plug the weekend before last. Pretty fed up now! Also severe SPD (been on crutches for months) got a lot worse when the baby engaged last week so am totally housebound, can hardly stand up let alone go out. Come on baby!

Btw I am 32 and expecting a little boy.

Good news is that DP is starting his paternity leave after he finishes work on Thursday, regardless of whether the baby has arrived, so at least I won't be stuck in the flat on my own all day once he's off to keep me company.

Sympathy on the sickness missmummy. I have hyperemesis and only had four weeks without throwing up (weeks 26-30) before it came back again. Even in those weeks I felt sick all the time and had several near misses. It is grim, but at least it will end once the baby appears (apparently as soon as the placenta is out, I've been told!).

Dixiebell · 27/11/2012 10:23

georgee, that's how my waters went last time. Only 2 small gushes over a couple of days and then they went completely. Didn't realise that's what it was at the time but I'm sure now. If it keeps coming i reckon that's waters. What does it smell like?! Waters smell quite sweet.

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 10:24

georgee just seen your post. I am experiencing exactly the same thing. Watery discharge in regular little 'gushes'. Been going on for a couple of days. I am also assuming that even if your waters go quite slowly it would be more obvious than this. But do come back and tell us what your mw said.

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 10:27

Really dixie? Maybe I should be taking this more seriously. The thing is I've been in this stupid pre-labour state for so long now that I am not going to believe I am in actual labour until I am either in really unambiguous agony or my waters go everywhere in a dramatic gush!! My pains are pretty regular this morning but they were quite regular all yesterday morning and last night too.

Agh lane! That's a bit scary. Was it your first? Though the hospital is literally 5 mins away.

Passmethecrisps · 27/11/2012 10:37

Of course, mm. I forgot about that. Oh, it sounds crappy.

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 27/11/2012 10:53

I'm not on the list above. I'm due on 28th, I'm 33, DC2 and it's a surprise. Good luck to those with niggles/contractions/leaks today. I have none of these things but I am feeling very calm and serene after feeling like shit yesterday.

georgee · 27/11/2012 11:01

Oh poor you kali, that sounds like no fun at all. Still, maybe these gushes are good for me and for you - thanks Dixie and Lane for the info!

I have tried to sniff but it doesn't smell of anything in particular, apart from my, ahem, lady juice. I have now had a shower so I might be a bit fresher for the next gush!!

I am getting tightenings too, more in one go than I have before. So just keeping an eye. If MIL comes and takes DD out of the house (as she always does, they'll prob go into town), I can do a bit of bouncing on the ball and crawling around on all fours and see if that makes any difference. Ouch, there's a pain ... so glad I'm seeing the midwife later. At least she'll be able to assess the situation.

Dixiebell · 27/11/2012 11:05

If it feels like a gush, I'd def check w midwife kali, they may want to check pads. I didn't go into labour even after my waters fully broke tho so don't panic!

Find it hard to believe will have another little one here within a fortnight. This morning DS kep stroking my bump and saying 'baby coming out yet?'! Hope he's as excited when his little brother actually arrives...

Passmethecrisps · 27/11/2012 11:41

Aw dixie that is very cute.

kali I am not sure as I was induced but can the head not block the waters from coming out this keeping it to little dribbles? It would be exciting if this was it for you!

kalidasa · 27/11/2012 11:49

passme yes I've heard that too but I thought it would still be more of a trickle rather than occasional little gushes. It's almost impossible for me to get out of the house alone due to the SPD so am reluctant to schlep to hospital/mw unnecessarily. But will keep an eye on the quantity. I really do think it's just extra discharge at the moment. Doesn't seem to smell sweet. DP will be working from home tomorrow so that would be a better day for getting checked if necessary.

Good luck georgee sounds promising!
