Any South African pregnant ladies around?

Just wondered if there are any South African mums to be lurking around on this website? I live in London and would be interested in hearing your experiences of pregnancy and/or giving birth here.

I don't really know what to expect when it comes to maternity and birth over here.

I'm from south africa. Not pregnant though. Had mine (actually have two now). My dd is a Nov 05 baby. Have a ds who's two now. Where are you from? I'm from durban. Ask any questions you what? If you haven't already, join the Nov06 antenatal post, its great being until to chat to others that are going through the exact same thing as you.

I'm from the north coast, about 45 minutes from Durbs. Lived in Durban for the last few years before I came here.

Where did you have your babies? Were they good experiences?

Is your dh/dp South African?

I could really do with floating around in the sea or swimming pool soaking up some sun. I'm sure it would be good for when you're feeling a bit grotty!!

I am from Cape Town, have been here since July 2000, Have a 5 year old daughter and due in June. Live in Scotland. Husband also from SA.
I have found the hospitals and care here very good. Have had lots of scans and experience with Special care baby units in hospital, my first was in hospital for 3 weeks after Emergency C-section
