Hope you all had a good weekend. Just wanted to say Sparks have a lovely mw appointment tomorrow.

Nut I have the weird dream pee insomnia cycles, the only time I sleep properly is when I have been to the gym and have a hot bath, but I can't do that every day :( what appointments have you got this week? [Nosey cow emotion]

My arm has survived the weekend, but it does feel like someone has punched it matches my boobs then Grin

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 08:27

Thanks Boo I'm super nervous and not really sure why!!

Feel totes gross today!!!

Princessishavingababyboo · 12/11/2012 09:12

Oh Sparks don't worry, you will be absolutely fine :) sorry you still feel so poorly, not long now until the magic 12 Thanks

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 09:39

Boo only 3+5 to go Grin although my mum kindly pointed out that she suffered well passed her 12 week mark!!! Cheers mum!!!!

She is also taking great delight in point out the 'podge' round my waist, and informing me that she started showing at 7 weeks AND carried massive!!! fabulous... not!! I know she's only saying it to prepare me but bloody hell, can I have a little sugar coating please!!!

Do they take bloods at your booking in appointment? even if its at home? and will she want to have a prob of my belly? cus I will need to shave (the joys of PCOS means Ive got a rather hairy belly Blush and if she does prod my belly will I need to lie completely flat? because then that means I need to hurry home and tidy the bedroom... the housework is a little lacking at the moment!!!

I'm such a stress head!!!!

Princessishavingababyboo · 12/11/2012 09:58

STOP AND BREATH SPARKS sorry for shouting Grin

I had to go to my mw for my booking in, so I don't know about home ones but I think there are blood tests they still need to do (sti's, hiv, blood group etc) my mw didn't have a poke about on my belly (also a bit furry, has been since pg with toddly boo Hmm) as baby is still tucked away nicely in your pelvis and there is not much for them to feel, but if she does, I'm sure the sofa will suffice.

I am sure mummy sparks is just trying to prepare you, but you could just as easily have an altogether different pregnancy from hers, and mummy sparks isn't a brooker, so doesn't know the rules about textbook pregnancies and sneeze births :)

Also, your mw will only be looking at you, she doesn't care if your house has that 'lived in look' she cares that you and twinkle are healthy and if you think it is bad now, you wait till twinkle is here Wink now, sit down, have a decaf Brew and some hula hoops, relax!

TheLittleFriend · 12/11/2012 10:05

Hi all, hope everyone's well Smile

sparks I had to go to the hospital antenatal dept for my booking bloods, but not for the booking appt. it depends how they do it in your area. I've never heard anyone say they had their belly felt, because as boo says, they wouldn't be able to feel your uterus above the pelvis yet. Enjoy becoming a mwepp though Smile

Sparkle I seem to have developed a rather hairy (and massive) pregnant belly but I'm terrified of shaving in case that makes the hair thicker Confused plus my DP really isn't bothered and I'm pretty sure that it's nothing unusual for medical professionals.
Re the house tidying- My midwife popped round for a visit a few weeks ago; I was convinced the appointment was at 14:00 not 12:00... I'd just got out the shower and the place was a mess! The joys of freelancing meant I'd had a really lazy morning! Blush I was so embarrassed but of course she didn't bat an eyelid!

boo I teach English (it's a pretty easy job for a native speaker in GermanyWink ) and this week I only have two lessons for a company I work for - fortunately my favourite student. And a couple of private students... Then I'm starting official mat leave from next week :( unpaid unless there is something I can claim here Hmm... But I'll keep teaching my private students while I feel up to it...

Good morning everyone else!

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 10:09

thanks Boo just what I needed!!!

Your right, I just need to calm down, and its not like the house is in such a state they'd need to consider calling social services before twinklebug is even born! Its not like one of those hoarder houses with piles of newspaper every where and cat shit all over the floor, just a little 'unkempt' Smile

I am naturally such a stress head through, although I did manage to get through my wedding without even a single melt down, even when my wedding dress went missing/stolen/not ordered (long story). I think thats why I keep getting chronic urtacaria. stress used to manifest itself with wild eye flickers, now it shows itself with body covering hive outbreaks!!!

I've no hula hoops Sad BUT I have just snaffled a bag of pom bears!!!

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 10:14

Nuts Thanks, Your right on the belly front, they've probably seen loads worse!! I dont normally shave mine, unless I'm going on holiday, and then it gets shaved for bikini wearing purposes!! Its not like yeti hairy and the hair isnt really that thick!

And I guess midwives probably see all sorts of people, I can imagine them going in to some truly awful houses.

Am feeling better already!! eek!! MWEPP by the end of the day!!!!

Princessishavingababyboo · 12/11/2012 10:23

Eeee it's so exciting Sparks :) I meant to say, I pluck the worst ones off my belly for scans (I am naturally very dark haired) I have never needed a bikini pluck though :(

Nut I can't find our stats thread, when is peanut due? Enjoy your leave, it must be nice to choose if you feel up to working or not.

Hope your all well and had a lovely weekend. :):)

Biscuitsandtea · 12/11/2012 10:25

So, how are we all?

Good luck today Sparks Smile MWEPP here we come Smile

Who's next to pop? Has anyone heard from Far recently? Hope all is well there. Is it Smegs next?

itsMYNutella · 12/11/2012 10:32

Is there a stats thread? MiniNut is due 27/12..... Confused yikes! The idea of a small person being here in 6 weeks ish is still scaring me.... I know it's kind of bonkers :)

clickingtock · 12/11/2012 10:39

Smegs - next week-ish methinks...

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 11:00

Smegs only has a week?!?!!?!

Im in a state of shocked horror!!!! my beloved disabled loo has really let me down!! or atleast the person who left horrid skid marks down the loo has!!!! oh my got the violent heaving!!! and then when i tried to clean it a little the clumps that were on the loo brush!!!! bluuuueeeerrrrrgghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/11/2012 11:28

Me too! I can remember her marvellous surprising BFP like it was yesterday! And if ds2 is only 8 months old then that must have happened before I had him!

Good luck Smegs by the way Smile

Stacks · 12/11/2012 12:08

Morning all.

Sparks good luck with your appointment. I've had blood taken at home before by a nurse, but it was for a research study so different circumstances. I would guess your MW won't take blood today, as she's probably out and about all day, and wouldn't be able to drop it off to get processed. Also, preggo ladies have hairy tummies, your MW has seen it before :)

Nutella I scared/guilt tripped DH on Fri night by informing him we could have a baby next week. He's been a bit too comfortable playing computer games and watching TV in the evenings/weekends and not doing any baby prep. On the back of that we spent the weekend doing nursery stuff, finally built the crib and bought a new mattress for it and the pram.

Has anyone noticed the Amazon 'family club' promotion? 3 months of free next day delivery, £10 off when you spend £50, and vouchers emailed to you for baby stuff. After the 3 months it upgrades you to £49/year Prime account, but you can cancel any time. The free delivery could be useful over Christmas though?

Boo hope the arm ache stops soon, mine was painful for a few days after.

I should go get lunch, will post again while I'm eating it :)

itsMYNutella · 12/11/2012 13:03

Stacks that is very useful! :o I need to find a way to kick DP's bum to be a bit more helpful and am slowly learning some strategies but I haven't managed to get him to do his Ikea homework Wink and I'd like to get all the furniture up and finished so I can get on with cleaning stuff. I've done most of the building but need help with the heavy lifting now...

clickingtock · 12/11/2012 17:32

Amazon can afford it. They don't pay corporation tax (well, peanuts). Along with Ebay, all the phone companies and the likes. I've realised I have to change my shopping habits. Again. Sorry - having a political turn after passing Houses of Parliament today on way to Tate Britain during my fantabulous time off parenting (not to be repeated for some many years, I imagine).

Biscuits - as you will recall Smegs got her BFP at 8wks rather 4 so was prob just after DS2 was born, no? Anyway - I'm pretty sure she's before end of Nov. Then Stacks, then Nuts and then moi, moi, moi. Grin

How lovely to have your nursery ready, Stacks - so exciting.

Sparks - I'm glad I didn't read your post while I was eating my lunch. Wink

Getting back into my hypnobirthing book and mantras here. Though I seem to remember all I was interested in during labour was keeping v still and v quiet and woe betide anyone who disturbed the peace. Not sure I did v much in the way of relaxation techniques. There you go. Something must have sunk in during the weeks before.

TTFN brookers - keep on brooking.

Princessishavingababyboo · 12/11/2012 18:11

Sparks how did it go? Did she hoik up her mw judgy pants when she saw your house Grin have you got your bounty crap bag? Or was it all lovely??

SecretSparkle · 12/11/2012 18:33

Eeks I'm a MWEPP!!!!! I've gotta go eat but will come back n post properly later!

whimsicalname · 12/11/2012 19:55

Congrats sparks

Loving the hairy tummy chat. I must confess to waxing mine occasionally as pregnancy has the curious result of making me grow a full on neck beard, side burns and tummy carpet (although curiously I tend not to have very hairy legs when I'm pg unlike usual)

What did you see at the Tate tock? I've had a couple of lovely days off, well, one lovely, one rather disastrous. The disastrous one I went to a craft fair needing a wee and never found a loo, or anything to eat, and it was hideously busy. And then the metro was broken and it took me ages to get home and then I cut my finger trying to make a sandwich leading to full on melt down, chocolate for tea and then falling asleep on the sofa.

But today I've been to the Lichtenstein retrospective at the DC National Gallery, to which I was chauffered by a female colleague of MrWhim's who has obviously taken a shine to me. And then spent hours browsing light up snow globes of the White House which play the star spangled banner. Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas!

All of a sudden I feel very pregnant - carrying my bump around and the like. 2 months to go seems like quite a long time, but no doubt it'll rush by. I feel like I need to get organised now as apparently the shops go loopy after Thanksgiving.

itsMYNutella · 12/11/2012 20:52

whims I have moments when I feel very preggo - they are mostly when I have to get up from the sofa or bed... such a lot of work has to now go into standing up and it's usually because I need a wee.... again!!!

Although, and I'm pretty sure this is normal, a new development the last few days... I have to lean back when I pee otherwise I can't wee.... Confused and when I walk there is definitely something bashing me in the pelvis and sometimes I'm sure it's in the cervix Confused

Stacks · 12/11/2012 22:17

Ooh Nutella, sounds like baby has dropped low into your pelvis. I wonder if you'll overtake me and have your baby after smegs...

Just back from yoga, a lady popped in with her 2w old baby. So tiny! I don't remember any of my brothers or nephew being that small! He's about 7lb 9 just now, so light, although his mum says he's much bigger now than he was at birth (though lighter now) as he's 'straightened out'. Was lovely to get a cuddle though.

Bed time for me I'm afraid. Just so tired these days. Feel like I need a nap 10mins after getting up in the morning. Not long to go though...

Princessishavingababyboo · 13/11/2012 10:41

Oh ffs, I am so embarrassed Blush my car broke down this morning, so I called the garage to collect it, when they came they brought me a spare car and told me that mine seems like a simple problem, so being the hormonal and very grateful wreck I am, I cried, on the street, with only a mechanic for company (not renowned for their people skills are they) I am so BlushBlush come on, make me feel better, have you all done this too?

Biscuitsandtea · 13/11/2012 10:47

Oh Boo - bless you sweetie SmileThanks

I haven't ever cried on a mechanic but last year I did sit in the middle of a shopping centre crying because the chrisntas shopping was too hard and it was too busy and this youngish lad came over and asked if I was ok Blush He was really sweet too but I was v v BlushBlushBlush

Having said that if my ds's grew up with enough kindness to go and ask a mad woman if she was ok I'd be quite proud I think Smile
