Has anyone used the NHS ante-natal in Chelmsford? Or is NCT the way to go?

Hi there, I am 12 weeks pregnant and deciding on whether to book myself on the NCT course or just to stick with the (free) NHS one. My partner is against the NCT but I've seen really positive reviews about it. Has anyone had any experience of the NHS classes in Chelmsford? This is my second child so I don't expect to learn anything from these classes, I would however really like to meet mums who are due the same time as me.
