November babies - Nottingham meet-up

comtessa · 01/09/2010 11:27

Hello Smokeybacon, Mibby, B00kw0rm and any others from the November ante-natal thread.

When would it be best for everyone to meet? This is my first DC so no childcare issues for me. I'm currently working full-time Mon - Fri, but free evenings from 6pm or weekends. I live fairly close to the city centre, so easy enough for me to get into town but the suburbs can be tricky, depending on bus/tram routes, as I don't have a car.

Let me know preferences (day/evening/city/lunch/coffee/afternoon tea/with or without DC etc) and I'll find somewhere nice to meet.

Hi!

I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and look after DD on the other 2 days, so evenings probably work best for me. City centre probably best for me too as although we have a car, I'm still learning to drive and hoping to pass before Junior arrives!

Also, I'm off to Wales on hols tomorrow so will be without internet for a week or so, so if I don't reply, then don't be offended...

smokeybacon · 01/09/2010 14:30

I'm currently doing Mon Tues and Weds and work in city centre, but am due to start ML on the 15th.

I will have to pick up DS1 from school as of next week so 3.30 onwards prob not good and early evenings are prob a no go for me as getting two little boys fed bathed and in bed are a bit of a two person job at the mo.

I have a car so can get to anywhere, so apart from late afternoon/early eves, anytime would suit me!

comtessa · 01/09/2010 14:37

Would a weekend be better smokey?

And b00kw0rm, of course.

Weekends are better for me too, i have to be up at 5 for work so tend to be asleep at silly evening times

grinningbee · 02/09/2010 09:28

I'd like to come too, but reckon I'll be a pain in the bum fitting in wise Grin as daytime in the week is best for me, and I'll have to bring dd with me.

I am living over Grantham way now, but don't mind travelling at all.

comtessa · 02/09/2010 09:54

How about a weekend meet-up to start with - if we gave you enough notice, would that be okay with you grinningbee?

Hopefully we could then organise a daytime mid-week meet-up once we are all on maternity leave.

How does that sound?

I don't mind comtessa. Pick a day!!!

Ivytheterrible · 03/09/2010 12:09

Hiya - I'm from the October group, due middle of the month and from Nottingham. Don't know any other mums to be but would like to meet some people... can I come out and play with you too?

comtessa · 03/09/2010 13:27

Of course Ivytheterrible!

How does 3pm on Saturday 11 September sound to everyone? Afternoon tea meet-up in Nottingham city centre? Lee Rosy's on Broad Street, opposite the Broadway cinema does great tea and cake.

Thoughts please!

smokeybacon · 04/09/2010 11:00

comtessa aaaargggh you've prob picked the only Saturday afternoon where I have plans!!! Venue sounds perfect though.I've never been there. Any chance we could do the following Sat?

smokeybacon · 04/09/2010 11:06

Ignore last message!!!!!!

Got my dates mixed up ( can I blame pregnancy brain??).

The 11th is fine for me. I'll put it in my diary!

comtessa · 06/09/2010 13:55

Great, is everyone else okay with the date, time and venue?

comtessa · 06/09/2010 13:55

Ivytheterrible · 07/09/2010 10:05

11th great for me - Thanks comtessa!

mibby I'm doing City Hospital parentcraft on Monday afternoons starting the 13th.

comtessa · 07/09/2010 10:59

Sorry to be a pain - is it possible to make Saturday 3.30pm instead of 3pm? Not to worry if not, it's just that I'm speaking at an event in the morning and have today been asked to repeat talk at 2pm - 3pm. It's not far from city centre so can be there by 3.30pm.

OP posts:
smokeybacon · 07/09/2010 15:15

3.30pm Sat it is then!

How will we recognise each other?? Oh yeah. Bumps. Tee hee.

comtessa · 07/09/2010 15:28

if it's busy in there, there is a downstairs which isn't immediately obvious. The stairs are to the right of the cafe, about half-way back.

I'm white, tall, with long dark hair, and apparently look more 8 months than 6 months PG! Can people let me know numbers? I'll ask them to reserve us a table for us as it can get busy in there.

OP posts:
Mibby · 08/09/2010 20:36

I'll be there but possibly slightly late, DH is on call till 3pm so we'll come straight into town once hes off

smokeybacon · 09/09/2010 20:40

I'll be there.

comtessa · 10/09/2010 09:28

Great, looking forward to meeting you all! Is there some way I can send you my number in case anyone gets lost, without putting it on here?

OP posts:
b00kw0rm · 10/09/2010 11:58

Pants! I'm back from my hols but we're away visiting friends this weekend Sad so won't be able to make it... let me know about the next one though and I'll try and make it.

comtessa · 10/09/2010 13:16

Sorry b00kworm! Another time.
