I wait until I can feel my LO's toes close to the end of the shoes.

I get them when they go up half a size. Don't know if that is right or not, but always ask the assistant to check whether old pair are too small first.

Clarks kids shoes are fitted with about a whole size growing room. Different styles fit differently though so don't just go by the size. Ask the assistant if you have trouble feeling the toes (sometimes the width can become too small before the length so don't just feel the front) they should tell you if there is any room left. If there is but the shoes were fitted a while ago they may say to get them checked again in a couple of weeks. This often make parents think they will definitely have to buy shoes in 2 weeks time so they may as well buy them while they are there. This however is not the case. They will say that so that any sudden growth spurt will be caught if it happens, but many people will be told to come back in 2-3 weeks MANY times.

Save your cash if they say the shoes still fit. It is in their best interest to sell you shoes so if they say you don't need them you really don't!!!!
