William was born 8 /7/ 05 at 806 am
As you all know we were going to be induced wed at 7 pm but unfortunately labour ward was full up so we were left till thursday afternoon and after assement prostin was given.
Got the smallest room on the labour ward and hubby had words with midwife and got us up graded to a room with tea coffee and some chairs lol not very comfy chairs at that.
We were told we could go for a walk and to keep active as possible which was fine so we did lots of flights of hosp steps and had a wander in the gardens nice nite.
By 10 pm next assement took place where i was 3 cm
and waffer thin so waters could be broken and we were having strong contractions.
So decded on gas and air and birthing ball which was lovely and took the pressure of only the waters kept going for at least 2 hours, was quite funny lol midwifes were paddling in and out of room.
By 3 am very little change pains was getting very very strong thought baby was comming there and then, but still only 3 cm. Midwife suggested other pain releif as may need dripping or C section.
Decided to have pethadine but didnt work so hubby convinced me to have epedural which worked a treat lol and fell asleep for 4 hours lol woke up to trainee midwife wanted to exam me.
She said wait a min while i go get someone to check what im feeling. Senior midwife came in and exam me and said can i give a little push as baby was almost here, hubby came over to bed wandering what was going on told to push again and hubby could see babys head pushed again and out came william without crying in total took 6 mins.
Baby was to breast and hasnt let go since lol
