Baby Freya arrived into the world on Monday 16th May @ 2.46pm weighing...............9lb 4oz's..! . The details are as follows:

Dh & I had just decided to go to bed on sunday night/monday morning and had just turned the light out @ 1am when I felt liked I needed a wee. I got to the toilet & was sure my waters had broken as I was leaking a bit. I got back into bed but couldn't settle so dh suggested to call the mw. Upon doing so I was advised to get to the hospital so they could check me over. We got there for about 3am and just in time, my waters broke for real a second after stepping our of dh's car ! LOL.
Upon examination I was 3 cm's dilated and using my tens but in quite a bit of pain. I had a slight show and advised also that it was only my fore waters that had gone, hind waters still intact.Once the birth pool was ready I got in and was now 4cm's dilated. I stayed there throughout the labour using only gas & air but as I got to 10cm's my contractions slowed down so I had to get extra help. I had to get out of the pool and(Pushing for a total of 2.5 hrs)I was put on a high dosage of a sitocin drip (?) to get them going again and this stage continued for about 30 mins, the mw stopped my g&a which seemed evil at the time but I got the strength from somewhere.! Freya was born out of the pool and due to the length of time pushing she needed a bit of oxygen.
Total length of labour was approx 10 hrs 50 mins.
The pair of us are fine and I am trying to get to grips with breastfeeding. She is gorgeous and I am amazed each time I look at her.
Best go before I cry again !!
