Hello - this is Fisil's DP masquerading as her. We are delighted to announce the birth of Murray, little brother to Finian, who arrived at 3.43pm today, weighing 7 lbs and 10.5 ozs. Mother and baby are both doing fabulously, and I'm sure she'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Excellent news! Many many many congratulations fisil. Hope Murray's early days are as blissful as can be for you and not too stressful.

Merlin · 10/05/2005 11:11

congrats fisil - great boys names by the way!

fisil · 10/05/2005 12:30

Thank you all for the messages. They let me out yesterday afternoon after finally deciding that they did get all the placenta out. Talk about ugly placenta - you know those photos of "healthy lung" and "smokers lung", well Murray clearly had a 40 a day filterless Gauloise habit going on in there!

I've just looked at my notes and it says Stage 2 took just 8 minutes! I went from 4cm to 9 cm in about 10 minutes - in the 10 minutes after I'd asked for an epidural. So I breathed him out with complete control and no pain relief. Oh no, thats wrong ... I had TENs on 10,000 volts, sucked on the old gas & air and screamed for England. Still, DP and I both decided that we much prefer a quick and totally out of control labour than the long and controlled one we got last time!

Thanks again for all your messages, fisil xxx
