Baby Jack decides to make an appearance

Jack Christopher decided to put in an appearance 6 days late on Sunday 24th April @ 18.11, weighing in at 7lbs 15.5oz. 52cms long.

Here's a quick run down....

1.30am - started to get contractions. They started at about 8 mins apart and continued like that for about 5 hours, but started to get stronger. Woke DH at this point to let him know. He wasnt really with it as he had only just fallen asleep - typical the one night he decides to stay up late!

6.30am - decided that TENS wasnt really helping, contractions now between 5/6 mins apart, so decided to run a nice bath to see if that would ease the pain. Helped for a bit but by 7 they were even stronger.

9am - called the hospital and asked if i could come in to be checked.

9.30 am - got to hospital and was 2-3cm when checked at 10am - pains eased off to 8/10mins apart for the whole time I was there!! Typical! Decided to go home and have some lunch. Left hospital at 10.45am

12pm - Contractions picked back up and now definately 4/5 mins apart and getting stronger with each one.

2pm - off we go back to hospital - contracting every 3mins and each one lasting for 60-90secs.

3pm - Get into the nice warm birthing pool and see if that can relieve the pain. Decided to have gas and air as the pain was getting stronger. Lasted on that for about 30mins as it made me feel tired and sick.

4.30pm - Out i get as i cant take the pain anymore. My mum has arrived by now as moral support for a v.tired DH. MW checks me and i am now 6cm! I ask for an epidural, but both my mum and mw try and put me off. I am not budging on this and get dry and wander back to my room. Pains now coming every 2 mins and strong.

5pm - Have the canular(sp?) put in my arm and am told that i will have to wait for 30mins due to a delay in theatre.

5.30pm - No time for an epidural as i am starting to get urges to push! Oh my god that hurt! I screamed my way through it, also had dh in a headlock, and at 18.11 Jack made his debut into the world.

Needed stitches, and infact that was more painful than the birth!

Managed to get the hang of BF and seem to bee feeding every 3-4hrs - so quite pleased.

Came home yesterday afternoon and so far so good

Sorry, not that quick after all.....
