It has taken me a while to get around to posting this - but my son Edward James Roy finally arrived, 10 days late, on Friday 27th February at 1 minute past midnight weighing in at 9lb 13oz.
I had a traumatic birth with my daughter, (waters broken, syntocinon drip, epidural, ventouse, shoulder dystocia, post partum haemhorrage...) so was a little nervous to say the least, but thanks to lots of support from lovely people on the Childbirth thread I approached the birth as positively as I could and I manged with gas and air alone. Despite a long period of slow labour lasting almost a week (off and on) things moved quite swiftly when the time came, and 6 hours after being found to be 5cm dilated Edward was here! I couldn't quite believe I'd done it - totally different experience to last time. He's a really laidback character, and has taken well to breastfeeding - he was 11lb 6oz last - growing bigger every day... Thanks to everyone on MN who helped me with my childbirth concerns, my pregnancy itching, SPD worries etc etc.
