Woke up on sun morn 1:45 with a tummy cramp and wondered if if actualy was a contraction or I had dreamt it, they started to become more frequent so got up and took pain killers and tried to go back to sleep. Got up about 4am and did some bits and bobs (mumsnet included) and then had a bath at 5 -6 am to relieve pains. (washed hair and shaved important parts too )
Work Dh up who started timing me which was annoying when in pain and being asked "is taht one" "have you finsished it" "is another one coming"!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
DH rang hosp at 6:30 ish and they spoke to me and I was told to come in after not being able to speak too well!
Got to hosp after 7am and could not walk to ward and was found my MW who pushed me to delivery suite. As soon as we were in there I was stripping my lower half (well DH) was and trying to climb up the bed as needed examination. Was 5cm and told MW that I did not think that was much (this was not 7:45 ish) not long after my waters broke and I was climbing all over the place unable to get comfy. I had to go to the loo as they wanted to dip it but it was soo painful walking there then having to get back off it again and talk to my community MW who popped in to say "hi" (whilst I was on loo)!!!
Anyway, MW was fantastic, she did everything to help me and advise me when she could see how uncomfy I was and change my position and made sure I was not going to get a 3rd degree tear like last time. She checked everything out with me and would not let people walk in the room until she said
She really helped me and I can not praise her enough.
Phoebe Jasmine was born at 9:31 and was put straight on my tummy but went in to shock so an emergency call was put out but she was fine thank god! they said it was because they slowed the last part down due to keeping me intact and it had just caused her some stress.
Phoebe was 9lb 2.5 oz!!!! I was in shock as DD1 was only 7 3.5! I did realise this time how much I never felt with DD1 as had an epidural (although it was turned off due to PB) and this time only had gas and air. I did get to one point and tell DH I could not do it anymore and needed something stronger and he said we did not have time, only was it that he told me later on he made that rule up not the MW as he knew I would be happy knowing I had not had an epidural or anything else !!!!!!
So theres the story, much better than DD1 but felt more pain this time but feel much better and able now afterwards, although very sore to walk, wee etc at mo but only small laceration so no stiches.
Have lovely new baby now even if she is a biggy!
