ruty's baby girl

Baby girl, 8lbs 12 oz, arrived by elective on thursday morning, what a difference to the emergency section last time. Very calm, they lowered the sheet to show me her coming out of my tummy, skin to skin straight away, and breastfeeding half an hour later. Blimey. Bought a breast pump and everything after difficulties last time but this time she just seemed to latch on and get on with it and milk has now come through. Amazed! She seems very chilled, so at the moment going along with the 'second babies are easier' theory!
Came home today and whole healing process so much easier. Still sitting down and making poor dh do everything though of course. Long may it last...
She is beautiful. [disclaimer - may be a bit biased]

Many many congratulations and thank you. I'm having an elective after an emergency lst time so your story is very reassuring.

Great!
Was it the chinese anaesthetist?
Glad it worked out as well for you as it did for me.
Congratulations.

thanks everyone! No, not a chinese anaesthetist VS, a rather public school older chap called Robbie, ever so nice though and wonderful surgeon, I held out for a Thursday to get her, I had her last time. So glad I waited an extra week, partly thanks to your story...

LOL yes I am a bit loved up at present, had a period of cuddling both ds and new dd in bed last night, one in each arm, a new experience! Glad you like the name. My sister was on about the fact that it was a French name and should be pronounced with the emphasis on the second syllable - i think that would just sound a bit too poncey!
