When to tell your other children you're expecting?

Mum of two here (8&6) and currently 5 weeks pregnant, so very early. When did you announce to your children that you were expecting again? I couldn't bear it if something happened and they had to feel that devastation too but would like them to know before other family members!

We told our 4 year old I was pregnant again after my 12 week scan.

I have two children and we are trying for our final baby. We've already thought about it and would surprise them with big brother T-shirts and a scan photo to tell them so around the 12 week mark. Oh and we'll have to tell everyone else shortly after as they will tell the world. I live in a small village it'll spread like wildfire lol 🤣🤣

We waited until 20 week anomaly scan. Very difficult to untell excited dc if all isn't found to be well.....
And half way isn't as long to wait for the new sibling!
Teen ds said he knew anyway as my boobs were huge!! 🙄

We did 12 week. He's 3 so needed time to get used to it and climbs all over me so needed to understand the changes. Luckily his teacher had had a baby recently so we'd done alot of talking about babies, pregnancy, brothers and sisters etc so he's taken it really really well

I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and have a 4 year old.
We are planning on telling her after the NIPT results and 12 week scan

I've got a 2.5 year old and am 5 weeks currently. He knows, he told me there was a baby in my belly which is what made me test, but he's quite loosely attached to the idea. I think it's because lots of his friends' mums are pregnant, and he doesn't really understand what it means yet.

We'll tell him properly around 12 weeks, I think, and then start reading books about babies and things. We might take him to a private scan appointment at around 16 weeks.

It's been a strange journey. I had a miscarriage a few months ago and he told me I was pregnant then, too, and he also told me when the baby had "gone", so he seems quite intuitive...

I would have waited til 12 weeks but DD was worried because I was so sick, so told her about 8 weeks I think.

We have a 2 year old and are trying for a second baby. Ideally I would wait until after the 20wk scan, but I was hospitalised with HG in my first pregnancy so that might change things.
