Ooops,I don't know where my original message has gone - so now I have to write it all over again.
Well I went into hospital on Monday night for induction, my mum babysat ds and dd while dh dropped me in and went to stay with friends who live near the hospital as we didn't know what time things might get started. I couldn't sleep a wink on the ward due to the noise, heat and so on, so I got up to read my book at 3 am and I was delighted when I started feeling twinges a while later. So I rang dh and he came in at 5.30. I was 4-5cms at 06.00 and so I moved up to the labour ward and had a bit of gas and air, which I didn't find as effective or as much fun as I remember from previous times!
At 7.30 I was 6-7 cms and due to a combination of exhaustion and impatience I agreed to let the midwife break my water. When I had dd 3 years ago, she was born about 10 minutes afterwards but no such luck this time. It took 45 minutes of agonising pushing before Victor arrived, weighing 9lb 9oz. We had no idea he would be so big as my other two 8lb 4oz and 8lb and I was told this baby was about the same size. But he is perfect (although very hungry- I am feeding around the clock!) and I managed not to need stitches or any other pain relief, so I feel quite proud of myself now. But I think he is definitely my last!
