Gender Reveal parties - who's done one?

Hello - I'm writing an article about Gender Reveal parties after a woman died at one in the USA this weekend.

Has anyone had a gender reveal party and made an extra effort for a very extravagant one? If so, what were your reasons for choosing to throw a Gender Reveal party?

Any other thoughts on Gender Reveal parties?

Ok so basically my opinion on this is they are idiots! This has nothing to do with gender reveal but just morons doing stupid things! Unfortunately

Personally i think the whole trend is ridiculous. If you look at the environmental impact of balloon releases, firing confetti around outdoors etc. it seems such a selfish thing to do. If you want to reveal whether you are having a boy/girl what's wrong with just telling people?

Agreed with amilia it's stupid and dangerous.
Back in my day gender reveal was when you gave birth and had a look.
